1  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / First Ply Try on: June 18, 2007 07:57:37 PM

This one is Romney wool plyed with silver thread.

this one I plyed with a red/burgandy thread

this one is plyed half with burgandy and half with a pumpkin colored thread.

I'm totally digging this plying with thread.
2  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Knitting with my first hand spun on: May 16, 2007 07:39:14 PM
I used some blue faced lecester (or however it's spelt) and a drop spindle I got at the local fibre store.

Knitty's Madge modified.

and on Mr styrophom. Since I can't find a manniquine head its being the next best thing.

These are my third pair of socks, I think I am offically addicted.
Done In Opal Smoke

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Lopi sweater on: February 17, 2007 04:08:46 PM
I used a different set of colors but was trying for this:

And here's what I came up with:

the detail on the bottom

the sleeve detail

the major fair aisle part of the sweater.
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitty's Center Square on: December 11, 2006 01:22:55 PM
I decided to knit this up for a family gift exchange.
I like how it turned out, I used Black and Purple rather than the whole red pink idea.

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Gathering Intentions on: November 27, 2006 03:07:22 AM
I just finished the "Gathering Intentions" sweater from "Inspired cable knits" by Fiona Ellis. It's going to be a Christmas present for my sister in law.
I found the pattern was actually really fun and easy to work with, I thought I'd have more trouble but it never really caused me any greif.
I substituted the wool for something more within my buget, and that didn't really give me any hassle either.
Anyway, here's some pretty pictures.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Tribbles on: May 19, 2006 11:34:57 PM
I decided to knit Tribbles for my Science Fiction English Prof.
He's a big fan of the original star trek, i gave them to him and told him:
"do not feed, and keep away from klingons"
he laughed so hard his face turned red.

You've got to admit they are cute.
Even if they were hell to make (eyelash with 3mm needles=a reason to drink).
