Woohoo...I finally figured out how to make an ad for my shop in html form & left it in my friends comments on myspace.  I wound up getting two more sales right after!  I'm not sure how to do html on here, but I'll at least post the pic I used for it.  Not very glamorous, but I'm a crafter...not a graphic designer!

Cute stuff, Leah!  I "heart" your shop now!

Thanks!  I'm kind of obsessed with those eighties characters!  I also love to recycle/reconstruct so it was the perfect medium for me  Smiley

Oh, one more thing...I got an e-mail from vistaprint offering 100 marketing postcards for $1.  You can upload your own design.  Here is the link:  http://www.vistaprint.com/vp/ns/splash/splash_postcards.aspx?PREURL=%2Fvp%2Fns%2Fsplash%2Fsplash%5Fpostcards%2Easpx&GP=2%2F19%2F2006+11%3A08%3A58+AM

Lisa, I think your pictures may be your problem.  Your necklaces are really cute, but it's hard to get an idea of how they will drape when worn because you can't see the whole thing.  Maybe try adding some more?  Some that are on a model might help.

I was just wondering!  I'd like to check out shops from the area.

Hi everyone...I live in Palmetto, which is just a couple of miles from Newnan.  Have any of you been to Market Day yet?  It's this awesome craft fair that is hosted on the square downtown the first Sat of the month April - November.  It's only $25, and I have had a lot of success.  Check out this website for an application: http://www.mainstreetnewnan.com/

My favorite America's Thrift store is on hwy 85 in Riverdale.  It's nice because there is a Salvation Army right down the street, and you aren't too far from a Last Chance (I think that's still the name...they changed it a couple of times) that's right next to Southlake Mall.  You can hit three great places in about 2 hours!

Hey there everyone...I noticed that almost all of the things mentioned in this thread are on the north side.  Is ANYONE on the south side, or am I all alone down here??
160  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Hippie Chic skirt from Hooked on Crochet book on: February 15, 2006 03:48:02 PM
Thanks everyone!  The pattern is not difficult...just time consuming.  The whole thing is done with a G hook, but it's basically just shells and double crochets.  The yoke was the most difficult part because of the buttons and buttonholes.  I didn't line it...I'm wearing a slip that's just a little shorter than the skirt.  That was what the book suggested.  I'm not ususally so by-the-book, but this was the first thing that I made as an actual clothing peice instead of an accessory so I wanted to stay on the safe side.  My husband requested that I make another one with half as much of the dc top and half as much of the shell part (go figure!  he wants it short!) so I think I'll be trying it again soon.  Oh...I also used a different yarn than they used.  Just Bernat Cottontots because it was much much cheaper.  I'd love to see someone else's version!
