1  Re: Blythe Doll - Holiday theme swap - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by craftyandnappy on: December 08, 2007 07:06:06 PM
I received my package from Sayllama yesterday and here are my girls modeling the gorgeous gifts:

Honey quickly claimed the cute snowflake sweater and matching hat

Seven fell in love with the fuzzy bear hat and matching scarf

She sent a third hat and scarf set (so cute, love the big red button!) that Pipha volunteered to model

....and, the cutest little amigurumi bird that I am claiming for my work table Grin

A final group shot

Everything is so well crafted and beautifully finished.  The girls love them.  Thank you Sayllama!

I got my package from ConcreteJungler on Thursday, and my girls are thrilled!

Jacque Bauer got a fierce aviator helmet and matching scarf and refuses to take it off:

Honey laid claim to the stylish white embroidered tunic which I would wear myself if it came in my size:

And Darwin got a lovely blue flowered skirt:

The girls are extremely happy with their haul.  Thanks ConcreteJungler!!!

Here are some pictures of my girls in the lovely pajamas we received from Sarahpanda-These are all hand sewn, which blows me away.  The girls had a pajama party tonight and watched their favorite show "24"

Here's Pipha in the cutest pink set, with little hearts just in time for Valentines Day:

Heres Jacque Bauer in her sleek black ensemble, which she swears can double as a ninja outfit:

and here's Darwin, I love this fabric! it fits her boho personality perfectly:

One last group shot... My new girl Honee could not resist jumping in, she's a little ham!

Thank you Sarahpanda for such great outfits!

I guess I will be first to post pictures of my three girls! Grin

Jacque Bauer-ADG#1 (Kiefer Sutherland is her idol, and she imagines herself a secret agent.)

Epiphani Rose-MRB (Pipha) is my pink princess

And my new girl Darwyn-PWP- She's a little Boho and right now has no clothes except her stock items. she had to borrow from Jacque for the photo shoot.

6  I could not find a black Blythe doll so I made my own in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by craftyandnappy on: October 25, 2006 12:22:12 AM
I have become a serious doll collector over the past few months, mostly blythe and other big eyed dolls, I love how expressive their faces are.  But, I am disappointed that there are none of these dolls modeled after women of color.  I had been considering buying a Blythe and doing a custom Black Blythe, but seeing as how I have never customized a doll, and Blythe dolls are kind of expensive, I got cold feet.  Instead I bought a Lil Big Eyes doll off of Ebay (the "rare" Dark Skinned model).  She arrived a few days ago looking like this:

No offense to the makers of this doll but she was a mess!  She is a Blythe-a-like but not as well made.  Her eyes change colors like Blythe but they were dull and flat, her hair was stick straight and slightly greasy.  I will say her clothes were well made and I love the shoes she had on.  I decided to customize her

I bought some sanding sponges and proceeded to remove the awful eyebrows and lipstick, figured out how to remove the flat dead eye chips, and repainted them to make them less dead.  I also gave her new eyelashes.  I am planning a mohair reroot for her but I have not gotten the hair in yet.  This is my first doll customizing project so be gentle.

Here's Jeetah ( her new orange eyes look like a cheetah, and I love Derek Jeter or jetah as they say in Boston, hence the name)

I still have some work to do on her (i need to repaint her lips, she's wearing my Nars gloss for the photos, her right eyelid is droopy, and I have to reroot her, but I am very proud of her so far!

8  Re: The Sha Sha Dream Bag ~sew cute~ Now w/ Tutorial! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by craftyandnappy on: August 20, 2006 09:35:26 PM
I have been watching this thread for a while and I finally made my first sha sha dream bag (i say first because it was so easy i will definately make another).  Mine is made from a blue and white quilted floral fabric remnant, and an old chambray shirt for the lining.  I embellished it with a yo yo flower.

9  Apron from [email protected] in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by craftyandnappy on: August 19, 2006 09:02:17 PM
I finally finished the apron from [email protected]  I decided to tackle several new skills at once.  It is a little weird looking but at least its no longer a UFO.  By the way I have a newfound hatred for "baby rick rack"  only adult rick rack for me from now on Cheesy

10  Re: Designer Clothes Craftalong in Craftalongs by craftyandnappy on: August 13, 2006 05:54:57 PM

I want to make this dress, I have to find the fabric.  I have not seen any pattern that is even close.  The Donna Karan version would eat up a lot of my fall clothing budget so I am going to give it a go at making it myself.
