41  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Valentine's Day knits--along on: February 04, 2007 01:22:27 PM
It's the same link that shelleyj3 gave.  It was a special edition that knitty came out with in 2004 to promote Breast Cancer Awareness.

I've started knitty's heart scarf as well.  I'm using a mohair blend.  It's a fairly easy lace pattern to memorize and it's knitting up very quickly.  I think it'll look much better after it's blocked but here's the wip:

I've decided I'm no longer going to avoid acrylic either.  I ended up using the Red Heart for a sort of cabled scarf.  I love the colours and the scarf is the same on both sides - and it's really soft!

When I'm knitting something with too many sts. for just a set of straight needles, I use circular needles.  You just don't join the project in the round and you treat each end of the circular needles as if they were a separate straight needle.  The part that joins them is a great place for all of your sts. to rest.

Are you kidding me, you finished knitting this gorgeous shawl in 5 days?  I have the book, 'Wrap Syle' as well, but when I looked at this shawl, I thought it would take far too long.  Thanks, you've made me reconsider.

Oooh I think you've started something here.  The original Lady Eleanor is gorgeous, but I think I'd get a lot more use out of your narrower scarf version and it wouldn't be as tedious to knit.  The kitties seem to like it a lot too.
lupinbunny, I hope you get three balls!

Lothruin, I just wanted to let you know what a great job I think you're doing as Knitting Moderator.  We really do appreciate all of the time and effort that you put into it.  The knitting challenges are a great idea.  Hope you're enjoying doing it as well.

Oh, mon petite_audrey, I think it's lovely just the way it is.  The buttons are beautiful.  They do lend an elegant look to the bag, yet still a great look for everyday.

Oh, I really like these.  They've got a casual, fun look to them yet they're not the typical 'string some beads on a wire' necklace.  Very cute!

Gorgeous bracelet!  Could you tell us how you made it?  I live over 1200 miles away from you, so if I made it, you would never have to come into contact with it.  I would, however, add it to your post to show you how it turned out if I could actually complete it.
