71  Keep off the Grass! (planter) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Laamissa on: June 18, 2004 02:59:40 PM
I have always thought about this project and finally did it!
The pot is a tag sale find.
All you do is fill w dirt, seeds, water and in a week youll have your very own grass planter!
It is so soft to run your hands over too!

I am going to be moving to a city apartment later this summer and this is going to be my ode to suburbia! (and how much everyone is INTO their lawns there)
Gotta stay true to my roots...(get it ha ha ha)

There is something so satisfying about having grass growing in a pot!!

After this project sprouted I was thinking about what else I could grow grass in.   I am thinking of contructing a square flat tray and growing grass out on the fire escape (that would be so fun!!)
I think it would still allow for safe exit if there was an emergency b/c it would just be like a "carpet" thick tray.
(Then I realized I too secretly have the "suburban grass bug" in me!!)

Hope you like...~M

72  Crocheted Drawstring Pouch... in Crochet: Completed Projects by Laamissa on: June 14, 2004 12:46:52 PM
Heres one of my latest pouches...

Had to throw the kitty pic in there for scale of course! Wink  Thats Snickers investigating my crafts...
The pattern is REALLY easy!!  I definately recommend it!  I modified it from this site.
What I did was expand the bottom to the width I wanted.  Then kept the stictches the same for the body and finished up with "holes" for the drawstring just as the pattern call for...I also went around the top with 2 rows of single crochet.

This pouch can be done in rounder shapes or in tubes by just tweaking the amount of rows crocheted in the body.
Could be used for sunglasses, crafts, un-mentionables...the possibilities are endless.

73  Free Hanging Mirror "Mobiles" **Felt Version ADDED** in Completed Projects by Laamissa on: June 13, 2004 07:28:20 PM
Ive always loved mobiles..So I came up with these free hanging versions.
Super Super easy to make too!  Just hot glue shaped mirrors back to back with fishing line sandwiched in between!!!  For the top of each one I made a loop for easy hanging.

They can be arranged in any pattern and could be hung in clusters or separately.  They reflect the sunlight in little patterns everywhere...even when hung inside a room (especially with a ceiling fan on)!

Hope you enjoy.... Grin     ~M

74  Huge Crocheted Tote Bag...(medium & purse size added) in Crochet: Completed Projects by Laamissa on: June 13, 2004 07:08:33 PM
My monster sized bag is finally finished!
I modified the pattern from this site
I used 2 strands held together throughout and added a stripe of fun fur.  The base is double the size it originally called for.
This bag is perfect for toting my never ending supply of yarn to take on the road with me.    ~M
