11  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Anyone have a Facebook Page for their Etsy Shop? on: July 14, 2008 10:22:30 PM
Hi everyone!  I just decided to join up on Facebook and add a Facebook Page for my Etsy shop!  Has anyone else done this?  It would be great if you could list your links below if you have one, or a link to your Facebook page, so we can all check out either others pages and add each other!

Here's mine!

12  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Needlepoint - Scene from Super Mario Bros. 1 for the Nintendo on: July 24, 2007 09:06:36 AM

Hi everyone!  It has been a while since I posted any of my creations here, but I wanted to share my newest craft with you that I'm really excited about!  It is a complete scene from Super Mario 1 for the NES!  This has been an ongoing project over the last couple of months that took about 30 hours to complete.

The project measures about 9" by 11" and is entirely done in needlepoint, including all of the blue background.  So many little stitches...it was incredible time consuming (especially the background).

I'm very happy with how it turned out though, and I plan on making more - I'm going to frame this and hang it up, and I'd like it to share the wall with others Smiley  Not sure if I'm going to make other scenes from Mario 1, or from other 8-bit games, we'll see!!  Thanks for checking this out!
13  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Thinking of Starting my Own Website... on: June 28, 2007 07:01:04 PM
Hey all Smiley  I currently own an Etsy shop that is going pretty well, and I was toying with the idea of opening my own website where I could also sell my goods.  I was thinking of running it along-side my Etsy shop - with the store having a comprehensive list of everything I sell, and the Etsy store having things that I currently have for sale.  The website would be more of a 'made to order' type of deal, where I would specify on the site to give at least one week for the items to be created and then mailed out.

Has anyone ever tried anything like this before and been successful with running their own website, as well as an Etsy shop?  I currently have the webspace and right now, it just forwards you directly to the Etsy shop.  So, it would really just be a matter of creating the website and trying to promote it.  Do you think that this would be worth doing, or should I just keep promoting my Etsy shop?

any thoughts are welcome!  thanks!
14  CANADA / Ontario / Good store that sells postcards? on: May 13, 2007 09:18:25 PM
Hi everyone!  I'm looking for somewhere that I can buy some postcards - even just basic ones, city views, map cards and such - I know that you can get them at the post office/Shoppers Drug Mart, but they all have the pre-paid stamps on them and they're all pretty generic.  I am a member of Postcrossing (www.postcrossing.com) and I'm looking for some postcards to send out.  I'm from SW Ontario - so anywhere in the Brantford/Hamilton/even Toronto area would be great.

16  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Your October Etsy Goals! on: September 30, 2006 09:04:01 PM
Well...now it's October!  Wow, September went by really quickly... anyway!  I'm sure that many of you have some October goals planned, so let's hear them!  Mine so far are:

1.  Advertise my shop more!  Send out some promos and make a flyer.
2.  Sell 10 items by the end of October!
3.  Get back into knitting more!

(I have been knitting this sweater forrevverrr and just stopped knitting for a while since I was sick of the sweater...but now I'm almost finished - mind you, it looks a little big for me - but I'm proud it's almost done!  And I want to get back into knitting!)

So, what are your October goals?
17  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Reversible 1" Button Bracelet!! (my first time posting one of my creations!) on: September 14, 2006 04:27:49 PM
Hi all!  This is the first time I've posted something that I've made on here, so I hope you like it!

I made something that I call the Reversible Button Bracelet!  It's made from 1" buttons stuck to a bracelet form!  It's reversible, so you can wear it one way or another way.  The buttons are stuck to the bracelet with strong magnets, so you can also take the buttons off and move them around however you choose!  So, you can flip the designs around and wear different patterns...there are many possibilities!

Here are some pictures of both sides of the bracelet:

and the other side...

I made the 1" buttons using Japanese paper and origami paper.  I hope you enjoyed this!  Smiley  Thanks for looking!
