1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Will high-priced afghans sell? on: July 16, 2006 04:43:38 PM
I want to start an Etsy shop.   Smiley

My specialty is graphghans...afghans with pictures crocheted in them.  I work two jobs, so I would only be able to produce...maybe one afghan every three to four weeks.

And I would want to make a reasonable profit...maybe selling baby afghans for about $50 - $60 (I could probably crochet one in about two weeks) and larger afghans for about $90 - $100.

My question...

1) Would high-priced, good quality items sell on Etsy?
2) And what about an Etsy shop with a low turnover of inventory (such as mine)?  I would probably only have no more than two or three afghans on sale at any one time (depending on sales of course).

I thought about trying other items...potholders for one.  But I don't think I can get the detail on a potholder than I can get on an afghan.

As always, help and feedback are always appreciated.
