1  Re: Layered stone bracelet - NOW with TUT! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Mienna on: August 18, 2011 04:39:52 AM
I made a bracelet for my Mom using the same technique but only one "layer."

I tried it out using a satin cord, it's more flexible, but I'm not sure I'm a fan. I like the look of the leather more, but she loves the satin.

2  Homemade Hooter Hider (nursing cover) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Mienna on: November 04, 2010 04:58:28 PM
I made this so I could go out and breastfeed without feeling like I was showing the world everything! I found this tutorial online, but it gives no specifics on measurements so it took me a couple hours to make, but I'm sure the next one will be much faster! I'm not too excited about this fabric, but I made this one for free, because I had all the stuff I needed so I can't complain too much. Smiley

3  Re: WIP Wednesday 10/13 - Show off your in-progress knitting here! in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by Mienna on: October 13, 2010 01:46:07 PM
I've never caught WIP Wednesday before but I figure today is a good day to start since it's my official due date! I'm working on this pattern and I'm using Sugar and Cream Denim. I just finished the arms and I'm beginning the body and I'm hoping I won't have it done before the baby comes, lol.

4  Infant socks in Knitting: Completed Projects by Mienna on: September 23, 2010 07:54:08 PM
I made these socks up for my baby, he's not here yet but I'm sure he'll find them warm! Lots of details (and pictures) on my blog. Here's a link to the pattern I used, with one change.

5  No scratch newborn mittens in Knitting: Completed Projects by Mienna on: September 14, 2010 11:56:22 AM
I made this mittens for my pumpkin that's on the way. The pattern is from HERE. They were super quick to make and I love 'em. I already have a couple other (stash) colors to use. Instead of the Knit Picks Sport Weight Shine she used, I used Caron Simply Soft because I had it here already. They look like they'll fit just fine on an infants hands, but I have none around yet to check, hehe.

6  Crib Sheets in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Mienna on: September 10, 2010 06:27:56 PM
This is the first one I've done but I bought fabric to do at least four more! I'm also going to make the curtains/crib skirt. I couldn't find anything in Dinosaurs that I liked (that was under $175 for the set) so I decided to make my own. Luckily for me Hancock fabrics had cotton on sale within a few days of me deciding this, lol. Here's a few pictures and a link (I used a combination of two patterns/tutorials I found online, here's the FIRST and SECOND) to the tutorial I used.

Just the sheet.

The sheet with the precious moments blanket and fleece blanket my g'mothers gave us.

9  Scrapbook recipe book in Scrapbooking: Completed Projects by Mienna on: August 24, 2010 10:56:37 AM
Here's what I came up with for a scrapbooked recipe book. I decided on a 6x6 book that way I could buy one piece of paper and cut it up to get up to four sheets out of it. This is a recipe I got from my husbands mother, it's wonderful and quick to make! I hope you like it. I'll be putting all the cards in so they sit veritcal (as shown in picture). I put the recipe on top and then variations we've come up with over the years at the bottom.

The paper the recipe is actually printed on is a orangey/beige color.

10  Cotton and nylon dish scrubber in Crochet: Completed Projects by Mienna on: May 06, 2010 07:30:25 PM
I made this tonight while watching CSI and I'm pretty happy with the out come. It's 3" finished and quite scratchy! Any suggestions or stories would be much appreciated, I've never used these before or made them, so any hints/tips would be great.  Smiley
