How about a hat FOR an animal?  Like, say, if I made my kitty a hat?  JW.....

The 'rules' on page 1 say it can be for an animal:

The hat can be shaped like an animal, have animlals on it, for an animal,

Very nice looking quilt!

I read crabby's post about the bears and thought 'what bears' but after a second, closer look, I spotted them!

This swap is going well - from what I can figure, there are 4 people waiting to receive yet and one person who has received and needs to post a picture.

I have a problem on February experienced square:
Rnd3: "working in BLO, sc in next 4 chs"

What's BLO? Do I just make scs on next 4 chs normally?

BLO does mean back loop only and you work the ENTIRE round this way.

I thought the same as sarahpanda, that you had colored it but then I saw what you had really done!  Great job StarFire!!

I also like the way you displayed it in your first photo - so creative!  I usually just set my items on the kitchen counter but maybe I'll have to try and be more creative.

My daughter just asked me yesterday if I could crochet a heart for her -- go figure, hey?  Cheesy  I will have to do a google search later for that pattern.

I'll save you the trouble of looking - the pattern can be found here:

It's a whole set but I just made the dishcloth.

As I said earlier in this thread, red is not a color I use to craft so coming up with an idea was hard.  After a few weeks of thinking, I finally came up with a small sewing project.  I cut it all out and started sewing, however, my heart was not in it and therefore it wasn't fun.  I thought, what in the world am I doing, making something I won't use and don't know who to give it to, so..........I threw the whole thing away.  I know, I can hear all your gasps now but don't worry, the entire project used less than a FQ of material so it wasn't that bad  Grin

Now I had to come up with another idea so I went back to my old faithful, crochet, and decided to make a dishcloth.  There was no way I was going to just make a plain one and post it here, not after seeing all the creative items already on this thread.  So, off I went to search the net for an interesting pattern and since it was February, I concentrated on a heart shape and this is what I came up with:

Next month I am going to make something non-crochet!  I am!

I'm having trouble with round 7 of the feb. experienced once.  Ive done it three times, and even put it into word so I can erase each stitch as I do it, but its STILL coming out wrong.  Did you do it exactly as written?

Yes, I did it exactly as written:

Rnd 7: Ch 1, 3 sc in same sp, 3 hdc in next ch-3 sp, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp. (2 tr, ch 3, 2 tr) in next ch-3 sp, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, 3 hdc in next ch-3 sp, 3 sc in next ch-3 sp, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, 3 tr in next ch-3 sp, (2 tr, ch 3, 2 tr) in next ch-3 sp,  3 dc in next ch-3 sp, 3 sc in each of next 3 ch-3 sps, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, (2 tr, ch 3, 2 tr) in next ch-3 sp, 3 tr in next ch-3 sp, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, 3 sc in next ch-3 sp, 3 hdc in next ch-3 sp, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp,(2 tr, ch 3, 2 tr) in next ch-3, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, 3 hdc in last ch-3 sp; join with slip st to first sc.

Note:   I have one BIG tip for working on round 7. Please read this round one stitch at a time, do not try to repeat as they do not repeat, this is the round that makes the square shape take place and needs to be made as written one stitch at a time. Your square may look really ruffly by the time you get to round 9, but when you have added 10, 11, and 12 it will have shaped up. Just smooth it out with your hand and it does go flat and square.

and it came out proper.  I'm not sure what to suggest - did you read the note and do what it says?  Did you go back and check round 6 - maybe you made a mistake there that is causing trouble in round 7.

I claim marabu for:

foreign sweets and foods and tea and stuff like that. I always love to get to know a new taste!

This is my 3rd claim.  I live in Canada and this is my list:

1)  Tablecloth (at least 50" x 70") made with sunflower, leaves, snowflake or spring flower material.

2)  Bright colored cotton fabric (any design is fine as long as it's nice and not creepy) - a minimum of FQs please

3)  I'm looking for specific Laurel Burch fabric - I'd love a FQ minimum of her Hearts and Hummingbirds and anything from her Jungle Song collection.

4)  An amigurumi elephant, penguin or pig (think, smaller is better)

5)  Quilted pillow cover for a 16" pillow (I'll provide the pillow) in dark blues and gold.  (Yes this has been claimed but I don't mind receiving another one)

6)  I'd love a handmade plush teddy bear - around 12" would be great! (handmade=nothing store bought)

7)  Crochet hook roll with snowman, snowflake or sunflower material (or other bright colored material)

8 ) I have learned some very basic origami and would love to learn more about it so I'm thinking that maybe a How To book on origami (but not too juvenile) and some paper would help me progress.

If my short list stalls this swap, I will try to add more

They look good amdm.

I find that some of my pictures don't show up as bright as they are and then other times they are way brighter!
