okay, reason I asked is b/c I want to make one...eventually lol!

I'm planning to make another one (smaller) with fruit and veggies and I am going to quilt around each jar.

So how did you quilt it?

Not with as much quilting as I probably should have!  I stitched in the ditch on both side of all dark lines and then around 3 or 4 jars per line.

I HAVE to know where you picked up that button print!

It came from my aunt's stash so I have no idea.

And I love the fabric you used for the lids to the jars!

I couldn't believe when I saw that in the fabric store - it reminded me of the jar lids I had at home.  I made sure to buy lots because I have another jar quilt planned and wanted some for that too.

Let me start out by saying a huge THANKS to kitty1256 for all the help she gave me when I first started this quilt last fall.  Not only for the great tutorial but also for answering all my extra questions  Grin

This is the second of two quilts I was asked to make for my cousin's sons.  The majority of the material came from his late mother's stash and it's meant to be a keepsake reminder of the boys' grandma.

My original idea was to make an eye spy quilt but when I saw kitty1256's jar quilt, I knew I just had to incorporate the eye spy and jars together.

The little guy this was made for has Canadian parents but was born in the US so I had to include material from both countries.  Not sure if you can pick them out or not but there is one jar full of maple leaves and another full of the American flag.  There are also parrots, frogs, bugs, crayons, eyes, stars, fishing hooks, etc.

One of my favorite jars:

Great job craftADDchick - I recognize some material on him!

I have mine about 3/4 done but keep doing other projects instead because, like you, I have my doubts about what it will look like.  But seeing yours, I just may get inspired to finish mine.

How about anyone else?

That looks great!!  Any ideas who many little triangles are in there?

I can't imagine working with that many small pieces  Smiley

The 'rules' in the swap thread said:

This swap is much like the one tiny thing swap, but instead of a tiny item it can be any size(medium-large).

so I guess it all depends on how each person interprets that.

It was scorching here in MD today.

That's sick!  We had a snow storm yesterday - yes, you read that correct, a SNOW storm.  It took down many tress and large branches and power to many parts of town and probably wrecked the annuals I had already planted - we aren't supposed to get snow this time of year  Shocked
