4901  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap - Round 23 on: June 03, 2007 03:45:55 PM
I claim Dulcinea for:

squares to make an afghan -  6" x 6", I think.  I decided I wanted a new afghan, so if you wanted to use up stash, I'll put them all together

This is my 3rd claim (0 sent)

I live in Alberta, Canada.

This is my biggest wish right now - I have themes in my house and just put out my summer items and realized I'm in need of some more things for this season.  For summer I have summer flowers and little boys (let me explain that one - I made 3 little boys out of wood and one is holding a sail boat, one is with his dog and one is playing in a puddle, plus I have a stuffed boy holding a bat and ball).  So, if you want to make me something out of wood, cross stitch, painted or whatever else you can think of that features either summer flowers or little boys, please! I'd be thrilled.  I have enough items for my shelf so whatever you make should be able to hang on the wall.

Orange cotton fabric that's not too girly.  I'm starting to collect fabric to make my oldest son a quilt and orange is his favorite color - FQ minimum/piece, please

Cotton fabric with craft related theme - FQ minimum/piece, please

Cotton fabric with these themes -  ice cream cones, popsicles, chocolate bars, other candies, (okay, basically any kind of 'junk' food but no fruits and veggies as I have lots of those already) -  FQ minimum/piece please

Knit fingerless gloves in black or navy blue or dark green - I wear a ladies size large

Some tea towels with toppers on them so I can hang them from my stove.  Sewn, knit or crochet toppers are great and any color except black for the toppers and white for the tea towels.

I have plans to make this doll http://www.paradisedolls.com/p083.html (except mine will have silver accents rather than gold) and I'm still in the collecting stage so, I'm looking for:
     - any silver charms that would suit this dress (such as scissors, brush, mirror, etc.)
     - silver old fashioned buttons with pearls in the center,

Draft stopper - either a whimsical snowman like this:  http://www.nextag.com/Whimsical-Draft-Stoppers-from-543346002/prices-html?nxtg=e9150a1c0521-B41449EF57A81ED1 or a more plain one like this:  http://www.improvementscatalog.com/product/id/101933.do but in a nice bright material (or material with snowmen or snowflakes on it.  I'm not looking for someone to buy these ones I'm showing, they are just examples of what I'm looking for - it's for my back door so would need to be long enough to block a standard door.

Cross stitch picture featuring a tulip or summer flowers (not too small, please)

Sewing thread in white, black, tan, medium blue, green.

I have a very small wist list but feel free to check it out!

A fabric carrier for either a 9x13 pan or a round casserole dish.

An amigurumi teddy bear (really small), penguin or pig (small)

A candy goodie box (this would be especially fun if you live in a non-North American country.)  I've had 2 such packages before and totally loved them but now I'm out so I'd love more.  No chocolate please as I'm allergic to it.  A few things I like are sour candy, chewy candy, dutch licorice but I won't turn other kinds away

4902  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 2007 Color Craft-A-Long on: June 03, 2007 03:27:12 PM
They say that confession is good for the soul, so I better confess that I actually made this item a few months ago but decided to hold off posting a picture until June because it was pink!

I was part of the Frankenteddy swap and decided I would make a practise one before the swap and this is what I came up with:

I was thinking of giving it to friends who had a baby girl a few months ago but decided that the arms and legs weren't attached good enough for a toy (the button eyes were added after deciding to keep it.)

4905  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: felting crochet questions... on: June 02, 2007 08:16:31 PM
Hope you don't mind me asking a few questions here, too, since they related to the same thing.

1)  What kind of yarn do you use for felting?

2)  Do you usually felt in the washing machine?

Certainly worth a good laugh!!!

What I can see looks very nice!

Did you know that your first link and third link are the exact same picture?  The first link doesn't show the whole quilt or cat like it says  Smiley

I don't suppose I should use cat fabric, a cat in a jar might be too much.

It would be rather funny!

You really fuond great fabrics for your "jars"!

I'd love to take all the credit but the majority of the fabric came from my late aunt's stash.  However, some also came from trades I did here on Craftster (so I guess I get some credit  Grin )
