4832  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 12" Crochet Square of the Month Craftalong - JULY on: July 08, 2007 01:44:39 PM
My son finally got his camera back together - he had dropped it during holidays and it wasn't working so he decided to fix it himself.  He had it in literally a million pieces, got it back together only to discover that he still had some parts left over and not all the buttons worked, so he took it apart again.  This morning, he finished putting it back together but still had parts left over, however, now everything works.

So, I can now post pictures!

4833  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Sweat shoppe swap Round 10! (SSS 10) on: July 08, 2007 07:53:05 AM
I've picked out the fabric I'm going to be using for this round - I'm only in once but I'm going to make 2 extra bags for more choice.

IMAGES REMOVED as I've posted other pictures

All bags will be approximately 12x12 except the Pink with designs, it will be wider than it is high (don't have enough fabric to make in the other size.)  I'll post picture of the actual bags when I'm done.

I'm very impressed with the points of your pinwheels.  Whenever I try to make them I end up sewing too far over so that the points are buried in the seams.  Well done!

Thanks!  Practise makes perfect and that's what I've had to do over the years.  Plus, ripping out seams I wasn't happy with and redoing them  Grin

I really want one with crochet hooks that says
"A totally different kind of Hooker"
But I  am not sure if I am brave enough to wear it.

That's hilarious but I wonder what your in-laws would think of it?  When I was growing up and knew them, they were fairly conserative  Grin
4836  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: pre-washing fabric on: July 06, 2007 08:01:24 PM
If I'm quilting for a usuable item, like a quilt, I always pre-wash and dry the fabric in my machine and then iron it before cutting - I'd rather have it shrink or run before I put it all together.  If I'm making a decorative item, like a wall hanging, I never prewash.

I'm probably going to be making bags again and I'm looking for fabric suggestions - any ideas welcome!

Does anybody make crochet stitch markers with an open ring thingy instead of the knitting stitch markers? I would love some crochet ones!

I have a ton of crochet stitch markers made with earrings that open and close and they work great but I'm not sure if I could make them good enough to offer here.  I'm sure someone else probably can, though!
