1  A Donkey and a Tiger in Quilting: Completed Projects by Homerof2 on: September 11, 2017 08:53:59 PM
We've lived in our house for almost 20 years and had the same neighbours on one side.  We've gotten to know their children and grandchildren over the years and their two granddaughters enjoy visiting to see my current quilt projects.

This summer, the youngest (11) got brave enough to ask if I would make her a donkey quilt.  A donkey. I thought Huh  Yup, that's her favourite animal and that's what she wanted.  She even went online and found the one she wanted but it was only a picture so, with some counting and figuring, I came up with a pattern and made it.  She LOVED it.

Then I offered to make her sister (13) a quilt and she said her favourite animal was a tiger.  I knew exactly where to find a pattern for that and headed to Quilt Art Designs.  She LOVED it too.

While I had no problem giving the donkey away, it was much harder to part with the tiger.

2  Happy 150th Canada in Quilting: Completed Projects by Homerof2 on: September 11, 2017 08:36:01 PM
For a swap with another group, I designed a Maple Leaf paper pieced pattern.  The recipient wanted something to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday, said she liked abstract and unusual.  After sewing the leaf, I used a temporary adhesive to stick it to the background and then quilted the entire quilt.  I didn't applique the leaf so some of the edges are loose.

I have received all my items ... Necklaces from gala_apple, Zippered Pouch from RaraAvis and a Knot Bag from AIMR (I have tried numerous times to get a picture that shows the colours of this bag correctly - it's much brighter than this in real life)

Already looking forward to the next round of this swap!

I'm feeling very spoiled today ... after 12 weeks in the mail and with no indication why it was delayed, the original PL bec99 sent me has arrived.

THANKS  Smiley

I received my PL from bec99 today ... the first one went missing so she had to send a second but it was worth the wait.
(if you have a better picture please post it.  I tried hard but this is the best I could get)
