1  10th and 11th Doctor Owl Ornaments in Winter Holidays by glynislily on: November 26, 2013 11:38:43 AM
So, my excitement from the 50th anniversary special still hasn't worn off.  Thus, I made owls of 10 and 11.

I'm looking forward to putting these on my tree this weekend.

I love the show Sherlock and decided I would make something with them.

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.

3  Geeky Plushies in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by glynislily on: November 06, 2013 06:05:17 AM
I went into craft hibernation over the summer, but then crafting exploded all over my house and I couldn't stop making plushies.

I made a storm trooper for my friend's baby boy (his nursery theme is space and his parents are big Star Wars fans.

I made another zombie owl because I'm a little obsessed.

4  Zombie Owl in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by glynislily on: December 05, 2012 09:10:47 AM

I wanted to make something for myself for a change, so I combined two of my favorite things.  I made the body out of pale aqua fleece and made the details out of felt.  I spent an insane amount on time embroidering the eyes so they looked bloodshot.  The ribs were the most fun!  I stuffed them so they looked 3D and then Sewed them on before I stuffed the belly to make them look a little sunken in.  My plan was that I wanted him to be gory, but like a cute kind of gory (if that is even possible).

5  Avengers Owl Ornaments (Updated) Almost Too Many Pictures in Winter Holidays by glynislily on: November 26, 2012 02:04:04 PM

I started a series of owl ornaments inspired by the Avengers.  I made these guys first because I was the most excited about making them.  I have Thor and Hulk already planned and will probably make more if the inspiration hits me.

Update:  I finished Thor and Hulk earlier today.  I went a little crazy with the details of Thor, but that's what I do sometimes.

I line it with cotton fabric and installed a phone pocket, but forgot to add that picture.

7  Wool Felt Owl Purse (Update with second purse) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by glynislily on: November 30, 2011 02:11:14 PM
I have been making felt ornaments for over a month now and I just needed a larger project that too longer to make then it did to come up with it.  I had been making owl ornaments and they were fun, so I decided to make a purse that looked like them but just giant sized.

I started working on one that is grey and orange like my favorite ornament.

And here is the finished purse!

8  Mid Century Inspired Ornaments in Winter Holidays by glynislily on: November 22, 2011 08:28:24 PM
My ornament addiction has taken me to a whole new level when I started researching the different shapes of reflector ornaments from the 50s and 60s.  I am completely obsessed with that time period and the ornaments are amazing.

9  Dumbo Octopus Ornament in Winter Holidays by glynislily on: November 18, 2011 08:12:35 AM
Last year, I was subbing a marine biology class and they were watching a video about the animals in the deepest parts of the ocean.  That is when I say the cutest chephalopod ever.  The Grimpoteuthis is called the Dumbo Octopus because of the large fins on the top of its body/head.  They live deeper in the ocean than any other Octopus species.  I seriously spent the rest of the day doodling it.
This year I decided to make it an ornament.

Next up for the Dumbo Octopus, a large plushy!

10  Felt Owl Ornaments in Winter Holidays by glynislily on: November 14, 2011 01:16:02 PM
I used to doodle this owl on everything, so I decided I would make some ornaments out of the doodle.  I really like they are turning out, but I keep running out of ideas for colors.
This one is my favorite!
