Exactly what Rose said. I have closed that damn ad SO MANY times today, already, moving the mouse left or right doesn't seem to help much!  Cry

I saw your icon in another post, so I profile-stalked you to get here... I saw the rainbow beanie and booties and thought "ooh, cool!"

THEN I saw the rainbow and cloud scarf and OMFG I think I'm going to die of squee!  Grin
That is SO freakin AMAZING looking!
4  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sewing Isn't Just for Grandmas and Mommies!! (a young crafter rant) on: July 22, 2009 09:36:13 PM
I made a quilt last year for my friends newborn. I wanted it something she could grow into so I had cutsey rubber ducky type fabric and pink skull type fabrics.

When I was hospitallised late in my pregnancy they stuck me in the Maternity ward. I noticed all the baby boys had blue blankets (maybe with car decos), and the girls pink (and faeries). Berk.

My unknown-gendered Splodge emerged into the world, to be wrapped in a white with black skull and crossbone and stars motif bunny rug!  Grin

Peanut, I hope my now one year old son will grow up to be as cool as your boy, at nineteen! Smiley
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Bag it, Baby! on: July 19, 2009 08:23:40 PM
I got so many blankets and bibs when my son was born that I STILL haven't used half of them, so I'd go easy on that side of things (though maybe one each to match the coolness of the bag would be great?)

I'd mostly recommend stuff for when the baby is a little bigger - everyone gives newborn stuff, and they grow so fast in the first six months you barely get to use any of it.  Smiley

So - clothes for 6 months on, size 00 or 0? (As a note, size 0 seems to be the average size for a 1 year old in these parts, with 1 between 1 and 18 months-ISH)
If Mum's going to breastfeed, maybe a groovy-cool nursing cover, if she's shy?
Some resealable, washable bags for putting things like bits of fruit, baby sandwiches and biscuits in? (I use plastic, I need to find the time and materials to make some of these)
A waterproof "nappy/diaper" bag. Even if they don't use cloth for baby's bum, these are great for clothing, soiled bibs, etc, for when messy eaters go to town, kick adults resulting in drink spills and nappy/diaper leaks necessitate clothes changing. Make it washable, and they can re-use it (I have a great PUL-lined one).
A matched set of loveys/security toys/blankets? One for the wash, one to have in baby's hands?  Smiley

They look great!

What is that grey fabric? It looks lovely.  Smiley

(And your English is is great, btw - you are perfectly understandable, which is better than I am in my second language, usually).

She is VERY beautiful., and must have taken you hours.

Again, I just want to stalk you for your husband's fabulous modelling abilities!  Grin

And I'm another one who hates the kiddie-themed nappy bags (what we call diapers here in Oz). Ours is a Fitness First (gym chain) bag in black and blue. I love the cool fabric of yours!
10  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Re: Bellydance costume makers, help please? on: July 16, 2009 10:11:48 PM
I'm a hack and slash seamster and tended to use any available surface to force the needle through... table surfaces, door frames, shoe soles...  Wink

Pliers is sensible. And planning ahead! And stuff.  Grin
