Thanks, both suggestions are really helpful - I'll give it a try  Grin
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Can anyone suggest a pattern for this? on: August 07, 2006 02:01:01 AM
I don't know if it's bad etiquette to ask for patterns for things I've seen in shops so I apologise in advance.  I would dearly love to buy this shawl but there's no way I could afford it.

I wondered if anyone could point me to a pattern (free or otherwise) for something similar. Or indeed if you can suggest what stitches would produce the pattern I can work the shawl part of the pattern out for myself. I'm afraid I'm not that experienced a knitter so can't work it out from looking at it... the holes look too big to be produced by a YO for e.g.

TIA  Smiley

ETA: I have tried searching for it but there are so many shawl patterns around & i just can't find one that's the same. The nearest thing I've found is for a 'fishnet' style open mesh poncho but it wasn't quite what I was looking for.

Hi everyone!

I posted on Craftster a while ago about organising a contemporary craft market in York. A number of people from here expressed an interest in participating, and I wanted to let you all know that LoveCraft will be going ahead on Sunday 19 November.

Further details and application forms can be found here: www.lovecraftfair.co.uk

Hope to see some of you there!

I've been making some earrings using buttons glued to earposts. I've tried both GS Hypo Cement and 2-part epoxy but the glue just won't hold. Is there anything stronger I could try? I know some people use E6000 but I'm not sure if it's stronger than the epoxy.   Any recommendations?  Undecided

thanks in advance Smiley

I swear by liver of sulfur for artificially aging silver. You just need to put a drop in water and leave it for a while until it blackens. Then you can then polish it up as much or little as you want using silver polish.

Thanks to everyone who's replied about this. I had a meeting yesterday with the venue and they were really positive about it and it looks like it will definitely be going ahead!  Grin

I'm planning to hold it some time in autumn, perhaps as a pre-xmas event - date TBC but I will advertise on here when I'm looking for vendor applications.

In the meantime if anyone wants to get in touch with me my email address is above.
