21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Sailor Purse on: December 02, 2006 09:40:32 PM
I made these bags yesterday. I bought the fabric forever ago at a rummage sale and have been waiting until I was sure I could make a bag I was happy with. I think they turned out great.  Grin

There are actually two bags, the same except for the straps. I had a brain fart and only made straps enough for one bag. One has fabric straps, the other has webbing. I didnt use a pattern, just cut out the pieces to make the best use of the piece of fabric I had.

The anchor was appliqued on... I used wonder-under and a zig-zag stitch. I drew the anchor shape myself to look like the anchors on the fabric.

The inside is lined and has a pocket. (Hooray for pockets!)

22  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Rock n Roll Purses (very img heavy) on: November 26, 2006 09:19:43 PM
I made these purses with the logo for my fiancee's band. I sell them with the rest of the merch at their shows for $15. (Its a steal.)

I use wonder-under to fuse the letters and put some topstitching to make sure they stay. I embroider "the" by hand. Most of the purses have linings that match one of the fabrics on the front. I make them around 12" x 12" or whatever I can with the fabric available. I've been using up fabrics from my stash so far.  Wink

This was one of those "I <3 NY" tshirts with a big stain over "NY"

This one used to be a tablecloth I found at a thrift shop.

Astronauts!

Sorry for so many pictures, but I hate clicking links to see photos.  Roll Eyes

24  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Pornaments Revisited! (not work-safe) (ADULT CONTENT) (complete w/ photos) on: November 26, 2006 05:14:13 PM
So, my fiance wanted a tree this year, but I didnt. We compromised on a pornament tree.

I cut up one of his old magazines (with his permission) and glued them to a big piece of posterboard. I used my yarn scraps and an upholstery needle to make the edges pretty. I used different kinds of stitches, bt you cant tell from these photos. The star is a vintage picture we printed off the internet.

This was the thread I got the idea from last year:
