11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Dinosaur Hat for a Cat on: February 24, 2007 07:55:23 PM
Here's my entry! For when my kitty Beethoven feels like dressing up as a dinosaur.  Cheesy

12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Another Bib Shirt Recon on: February 22, 2007 07:40:25 PM
I've kinda just been sitting here on craftster since I got home from work and I felt like I needed to do something constructive. So I reconned a shirt from my to-do pile.

13  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Autumn Bib Shirt (recon) on: February 22, 2007 05:51:13 PM
This shirt was originally a clearance turtleneck and a tshirt. It was incredibly easy.

I added some pintucks to the bib because all the brown just looked kind of plain.

I thought the print was really cute.

Detail the pintucks on the bib part:
14  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Anti-Valentines Day shirt recon on: February 22, 2007 05:40:55 PM
I dont celebrate Valentines Day. But I love hearts.

This was originally a kids XL turtleneck (the cute white with red hearts) and I made the binding from a clearance tshirt from Meijer. I thought about making a bib shirt, but decided I wanted to show some cleavage, sooo...

I had never done binding by hand before, so the shirt got stretched out a bit too much. I may redo it later. Sorry about the awful bathroom picture.

15  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Recycled yarn on: February 15, 2007 07:24:53 PM
My new favorite project- recycling yarn.

Each of the colors was a different sweater. None of the sweaters cost me more than $2.50 each. I got between 4 and 8 balls out of each sweater. I dont know the yardage.

I find the unraveling and then winding into balls to be very relaxing and stress relieving.  Cheesy

I'm thinking about making the Sweet Pea Shawl from the Happy Hooker out of the variegated green or the light blue. Hmmmm....

16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Curtains into purse on: February 15, 2007 07:07:36 PM

This purse was made from recycled curtains and recycled purse handles from a thrift shop purse. The best part is... There's lots more of the curtains! I see more purses and maybe some change pouches in my future.   Cheesy
17  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Seija hat variations on: February 15, 2007 06:46:43 PM

These are a bunch of the first hats I've ever made. I used the Seija hat pattern and added a bit and left off a bit so they are all adult sizes and some dont have earflaps. Most have pompoms. (I <3 pompoms) The one on the top right has a heart on it and the pink/purple one has a shell border that you unfortunately cant see.
18  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Stripes Forever variation on: February 15, 2007 06:42:40 PM

This turned out great. I still have to block it I guess. You cant see from the picture, but the white and brightest green yarns have sparkles.

I've got bits and pieces of yarn everywhere so I think I'm going to make lots of these and get some stashbusting done. Smiley
19  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Wedding invites- CDs? Opinions please? on: January 14, 2007 06:14:51 PM
So my fiancee and I want our wedding to be really unique. (Who here doesnt?)

But we came up with the idea of sending out mix CDs of love songs as the invitation. I think its a great idea, but I want other peoples opinions. How would you incorporate the invitation part? In the front insert? On the front or the inside of the insert? Send a separate card with it? Print the info on the CD too? Record an audio invite for the beginning of the CD? I think I've just got too many ideas.

(ps.. cost is not an issue, we've got capabilities to duplicate cds at home)
20  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Personalized Embroidered labels- advice? on: December 10, 2006 09:47:00 PM
I'm thinking about ordering some custom labels (the embroidered kind). I make purses and want to give them a more professional look.

I want to price them out so I know if its feasible. Does anyone have experience ordering them? Would you recommend a company?
