1  Re: 10 things swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by Elwood on: March 12, 2005 04:46:02 PM
I got my package from Kaybee last night.  It was like Christmas!  Everything was so nice.  Thanks Kaybee.  Yours is packed, I just have to make it to the post office.

I got a fabric flower a barrette and some great smelling soap (that was my extra!)
Oh and I will apologize now for the pics now.   I would like to blame the camera but I think it's me.

The keychain is my fave,  the beads have diff. meanings.
red=to ward off the evil eye
blue= good luck
hamsa= from the Hebrew word, five, rep by 5 fingers of anopen. hand is to defend against evil

I knew from some other posts I saw that Kaybee was a kniitter, I was so wishing that she would knit something for me.  It looks like I wished on the right star.  The kleenex holder is fave #2.

I also got some bath stuff a beautiful candle (pineapple coconut).  This pic is crap I'll try get another one, there is a cool pen holder in the middle which is going to my office.

A cool decoupage frame

I also got a nice beaded ring which I'll currently wearing and some marble magnets.  The camera died before I got to take those pics.

So again thanks Kaybee

2  The Grandpa bag (w/ bigger pics!) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Elwood on: November 09, 2004 08:29:50 AM
I made this out of an old suit jacket of my Grandpas.  His favorite color was the same as mine, so I did the lining orange!  It has a chapstick pocket and cell phone holder.  I used the Jordy pattern.  I made it bigger and sewed seams down the side to make the gussets and added a flap.  It is my favoritest bag ever and a cool tribute to my grandpa.

Ok Here is one of the giraffe suitcases I made, the inside still kinda smells funny so I'm going
to get some animal print fabric and redo the inside.

4  Let's hit the beach..bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Elwood on: June 20, 2004 10:10:57 AM
My lastest edition.  I used a interfacing called craftfuse and it works wonders.  It's nice and heavy and gives bags a great form (also iron on)

Oh I got the material at WalMart for $1.95/m in the clearance bin.

I've made a few Jordy bags but gave them all away before I took pictures.  Here is the one I just had to keep for myself.  I got a pile (26 yds) of material from a friend of mine that is terminally ill and can't sew.  I think of her everytime I look at it.  I am so proud!!

The picture aren't the greatest, but I took them at work...in a hurry Wink

6  My "go" at a bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Elwood on: May 20, 2004 08:34:29 AM
Well here is a couple of pictures of my mom's Mother's day present (better late than never!).  I basically used the messanger bag directions but I added some stuff.

I work at an aviation company where we have an upholstry dept and the guy gave me a piece of what he called Landsdown foam.  It's the kind of foam that the craft shapes are made of just a mm thicker.  I cut it about a quarter of an inch smaller (all around) than the back of the bag and sewed it on before I did the lining, I also did a piece on the bottom.  I makes it alot sturdier!

I love this site!! (sighs euphorically)

7  Re: Proud of my new wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Elwood on: May 07, 2004 11:36:47 AM
Here is the wallet that I made for my friend.  She has a bag that's similar so I thought I'd make the wallet to match. Thanks Local Girl Denise your instructions made it so easy!
