16  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / 2 angels needed~Giver and Needer swap FOUND!!! on: April 15, 2009 09:07:23 AM
We had one person who flaked and need to cover both ends.if you can please help out on one of these too it would be wonderful and very much appreciated!!Please PM me or comment here I can PM you if you prefer. thanks

the first would be a small thank you something for a person who sent
Embarrasseda large flate rate box full. It included juvenile prints and panels for her kids (some monkeys, princesses, cars, etc), some pretty upholstery samples, some yardage of a bright pink and orange and yellow print, and I can't remember what else. I also sent her some knitting tools- needles, I think, a stitch counter, stitch markers.

also need a person to send to a person as  a giver. the need is for
Embarrassed6. Paper/scrapbook supplies: I know I am sending some ribbon bits and stamps and stickers. But I could really use some new stamps (clear or regular) papers and embellishments. Particularly ones to make cards with. I also love journaling items. Either die cuts or stencils to make my own. This stuff is expensive and work has just been cutting into my hours  crafting fund. I don't need any more pens or writing stuff though, got lots of that. And please no baby or religious themed stuff.
7. Needlework (embroidery, cross stitch, etc): none
8. Soap/Candle supplies: none
9. Other: I do a lot of altered books and am currently working my way into shrines. So any small items that I could use in a shrine would be a nice addition. I currently have a lot of this stuff, so I dont need it. But I always like to ask just in case someone has something amazing I could use. No obligation though. Smiley
17  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Banana nut (amish/ friendship) bread on: April 09, 2009 09:39:14 PM

if you can get a starter from a  friend the recipe will be with it.
if not here's how you can start your own.
freeze2 bananas per batch you want to make.
in a medium sized bowl (DO NOT USE METAL) with a  lid or zip lock bag if you prefer. add 1 cup milk, 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar. set on counter and do nothing.
the next day feed it again same as before.  do nothing for  a few (2-4 days)  but squeeze the bag and burp it if needed. If using a bowl just stir it up really well scraping the sides of the bowl.
you can add more if you want to do a large bake or not if you don't.
on the day you are ready to bake add another one cup, milk, one cup flour and one cup sugar and stir.

preheat oven to 325 degrees.
pull the 2 bananas from the freezer and lay tehm on the stove (it will thaw them just enough to make them easier to peel)
spray 2 loaf pans with cooking spray and sprinkle generously wit cinnamon and sugar.

In a medium sized bowl mix
1 cup oil
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
3 large eggs
2 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
nuts if you would like

Peel the bananas with a knife and chop into slices (mash with a fork and add to the mix)
add 1 1/2 - 2 cups of the milk,flour, sugar mix.
Mix Well
add one Large box of instant banana pudding dry mix.
Mix well.  divide between the 2 loaf pans.

for a topping I grind nuts and sugar together adn sprinkle on top.
Bake for about an hour (I find it takes about 1- 1 1/2 hours)  the bread will spring back when touched if its done (or a knife will come out clean)

Oh and you are supposed to package one cup of the milk, sugar, flour mix in a baggy and give it to friends with the recipe. I freeze it in 1 1/2 cup incriments for me to use later.

enjoy!  really yummy with strawberry or blueberry cream cheese!

Details of swap:

Welcome to the Givers and Needers swap! It's time for round four!

Givers: If you have an overabundance of craft supplies, this is your role. You send a box (doesn't matter how big or how small; it's totally up to you) to a Needer and receive a little thank-you gift for all your generosity. You do need to get a DC# for your package.

Needers: If you have a need for craft supplies, this is your role. You will receive a box from a Giver with things you asked for in your questionnaire, and once you have received it you will send a little thank-you gift to the Giver.  This could be an ATC, a handmade card, a piece of jewelry, whatever. You do need a DC# for this gift, but taking a picture of the package before it has been sent (in the envelope) is required.

This swap is limited to 24 people because it takes some work to match swappers up. There will be twelve givers and 12 needers, and once they are filled, they are filled.  I will take people's questionaires in the order they come to my inbox!  Please post in this thread as soon as you receive confirmation from me that you are in.  (this is possibly expandable if I get a co organizer)

This is a great way to de-stash and help a fellow crafter out who may for various reasons need some supply help.

If you have not sent out by the sendout date, you will be given negative feedback UNTIL you PM me with your proof of sending your package.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer: BE SURE TO PUT GIVER AND NEEDER IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF PM
