1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Vintage Craft Projects / *new* vintage pattern site on: December 02, 2007 11:21:41 AM
hi ladies,
I just added a free vintage pattern section to my blog 'My Amphetamines & my Purls'
I will be adding much more but please let me know if there are things you'd really like to see (have been out of the craftster loop for a while now)

ps I have a TON of 60s 70s and early 80s patterns, but I'm looking in to the copyright situations.  Tips also welcome! Smiley

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Quick Fast Cheap Tops on: October 16, 2005 12:30:02 PM
I'm getting ready for a show and sale nov.5.  Last time around I did really well selling hats, cozies and more hats.  Now our show is bigger and its xmas shopping season and I've made hats, scarves, cozies, headbands, fingerless gloves, capey-collars and more hats.
I feel like this time I need some more substantial garment like things (ie shrugs, boleros, tops, items that aren't strictly accessories) but they really can't take too long, and can't look like things you could get in a shop.
I'm thinking a little more than a OSW but less time than a Minisweater-something I could make a pile of and then embellish differently.
Any ideas?  You will be saving me from sleepless nights drinking and googling "un lame shrug" and "rip off anthropologie w/ a giant guage" lol.
Thank you in advance!!!!
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitting Blog Events/Contests on: October 15, 2005 10:33:38 PM
Hey ladies,
I LOVE when blogs have contests or KALs and things but I am always late to the party!
Maybe we could start posting them here so clever craftsters can have a crack?  Good Idea?
Well I will get things started by posting a link to a contest I'm trying to hold at my blog.....I think maybe it's too hard.
You have to name the person in the photo (a person who is wearing a hat I made).  It might be easier for Canadians but you craftster ladies and gents are clever!!
Here's the link:
Give it a stab and maybe (hopefuly!!) win a prize!  Even if you have no clue who/what it is, the photo is a hoot!
ps Maybe we could post webring and charity info in this thread too?! yee haw!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / felting duplicate stitch on: October 14, 2005 11:03:51 AM
if i duplicate stitch a motif onto a base knit of the same wool, with the duplicate stitches felt along with the base and look consistant or should I felt and then needle felt the motif ontop? wow that was a long sentence! thanks!\
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / new nalgene cozy! on: October 11, 2005 08:10:14 PM
(No, it doesn't have to be 'nalgene'.)
Ages ago I posted a crochet cozy for my chilly, cumbersome waterbottle in the crochet forum.https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=24597.0

Now I have a knit version.Ta Da!!

It's felted in briggs and little.   More info at my blog: http://pomoboho.blogspot.com  Leave me a comment if you're interested in the pattern (it has some crocheting components to make it sturdier)  I'm selling some with intarsia motifs...skulls, "H2O"-ha ha so clever!, flowers and lightning bolts -any more ideas welcome!
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Submissions Advice? on: September 16, 2005 06:10:04 PM
Heya, I was wondering if anyone has advice about submitting original patterns to print magazines ie Vogue, IK, Knit1, Family Circle....anything really.  Will the publications send you submission guidelines and how do you ask for them?  Has anyone in craftsterland done this (I know some of you talented ladies have) and if so do you have any tips? Hope so! I don't know where to start. xoxoxomo
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Flower Neckace on: August 25, 2005 08:13:32 AM
When I wear this over my winter tops here in the snowy north, I will pretend it is still summer lol.

Please excuse the naughty Judy's nipple.  She is a slutty mannequin  from Club Monoco.  It couldn't be helped.
10  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Discussion and Questions / counterbalance loom help on: July 01, 2005 01:27:30 PM
hey ladies,
I have access to a counterbalance loom this weekend and I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas about patterns ie, treadle combinations for different patterns and effects like twills.  I'm just messing around, but I'd like to have a name for the different things I'm coming up with.
ps I can't find anything online-any links?
thank you so much!
ps it's a holiday weekend here, or I'd just go to the library.  cheers!!!!
