1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Rachel Comey Fur Helmet on: October 11, 2008 08:43:33 AM

I'm desperately want this Rachel Comey Fur Helmet:

(http://www.shop.creaturesofcomfort.us/ then click accessories, it's the second item)

But I don't love the $300 price tag, or the fact that it's made of real fur. Also, because I'm pretty sure I can make this one myself. Does anyone know of a similar shaped hat pattern? Also, I've never worked with faux fur before, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Anthropologie Joona Handknit hoodie - stitches? pattern? on: November 06, 2007 08:15:23 AM
OMG. I've been lusting after this sweater but can't spend $400 on a hoodie, and was about to make the same post you just made!

While I can knit, I've been thinking it might be easier to crochet for this project, since there seem to be so many pieces involved.. this way, I could readjust without losing stitches, and attach and reattach as needed, especially for all the braided trims, like the braided border around the hood.

I don't think i'm going to use a pattern, just fit, and refit as I'm going.

What if you knit it, and I crochet it, and we see what happens!?!

Also, what yarn are you thinking of using? I want something cheap, but soft, yet stitchy. Preferably in the same mushroomy color.

omg. how cute are you! sometimes gothic-lo stuff looks so.. cheap and messy, but you look lovely, and very well put together! Great work, esp on the shape of the skirts! Love the bubbley-ness and the amazing detail work!

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Tattoo Pistols on long gloves - Bang bang! on: January 10, 2007 07:03:18 PM
I hope you don't mind. i completely stole your idea and made my own bang-bang gloves with a pair of (burnt sienna?) gloves that my aunt gave me and I had no use for. I  mean, no non-crafting use for.

Between your post, and my insatiable love of both Sailor Jerry and Johnny Cash kitsch, I just had do make a pair. As soon as I can get my act together, I'll post the pics. Thanks for the inspiration!!
