21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Once You Pop You Can't Stop Swap #4 Gallery on: August 17, 2007 08:21:13 AM
I received from teartear on Wednesday.  I got a nature theme!  There's a great little pillow that my roommate almost stold as she headed off to move to Texas (I confiscated it back).  Then there's a little tin with a tree on it and a bunch of pins inside.  I love the pins so much.  I've wanted some to cover up my guitar bag and these will do the trick.

I'm still out of a camera so teartear can post pics whenever.  Thanks so much!

You beat me to the pics before I could say how much I loved the package.  The packaging was so cute.  I think i will find something small to recycle on a regular basis just so I can use the can for that. Smiley

I'm running a stenciling program at the library (I'm a teen librarian) and I was going to do freezer paper stencils, but now I think I might do them this way because it will save on them cutting stuff out and all.  I'll bring supplies so they can cut out their own and take them home if they don't like mine.

And the bag is adorable.  It's the greatest retroey color and it makes me smile. Thanks so much!
23  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Stencilling Program on: July 30, 2007 02:03:15 PM
I am going to have a freezer paper stenciling program for a group of teens at the library next month.  I think it will work well, but I'm interested in any suggestions that would make this flow smoothly.  I figure that I'll have several tables around the room with different steps (choosing a stencil, cutting it out of freezer paper, ironing and painting) and tables in the middle for working on things and spreading stuff out.

I've just started doing freezer paper stencils, but I know simple ones can be done quickly and that's what I'm planning on ... and hoping they'll enjoy it and go home to do it on their own!

I just finished part one of one of my knitting projects and...  it doesn't quite look like the picture.  Sad  Thank goodness there's another week!  This normally happens the day before send-outs.

Everyone's stuff is so great.  I'm so excited to send and receive.  I want to get in on this action!

I'd probably be up or it.

The flowers are hanging in my kitchen window right now and they reflect the light so nicely.

I took two of the drives and handed the other two to roomie and the bf.

The bookmark is really great and is holding my place in my current book.

Everything turned out so beautifully!  My supervisor is considering a decorated USB program for the teens at the library now...

This is so pretty!  I printed the pattern as soon as I saw it.

Well, they look like they should be in knitty.  The black and white is so classy.  I like them!

I just started experimenting with stencils and it's so much fun.  It's the kind of instant gratification crafting that I love - so different from knitting.  Anyway, I showed my roomie how to freezer paper stencil last night and here are our results.

Most of the stencils are from Stencilry.

Amelie shirt made by moi.

It's my 13-yr-old cousin's bday this week so I thought I'd make her a shirt.

My roomie's first project.  It's the white tree of Gondor.  She just found a picture and traced.

This is the first stencil I made on my own.  Of course, it's really basic but I like it.  It's for my bf for his bday next week.  The picture's kind of crappy because this one was taken with my camera phone.  Here's a closeup:

The "Restricted" is just a little crooked.  I think it works though.

Tell me what you think!

I just did my first stenciled bag today - it's for library books.  I am thrilled to start making more so this challenge has come at exactly the right time.  I'd love to contribute something just to add to the tally!
