901  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Toner Craftlace lanyard multi-braiding on: June 05, 2007 09:53:26 PM

I didn't see any that looked like the star one, but I think this one http://www.boondoggleman.com/prj_chainlink.htm could be altered a tiny bit to work (or at least, to my liking) but I can't figure out how I would put the beads in the middle like the original picture has. (I have the same star beads, just a different color. They have a hole at the top point and a hole directly under it *duh* in the bottom indentation.)

Or the The Split Brick/Pony Bead could probably do the trick, but I'd rather have the bead in the middle. This one would probably look more like the one in the picture, but I think I like the chain one better. What do you think?

ALSO! I'm planning on putting this on a keyring that's star shaped... I have an idea how to attach it, but maybe you have a better idea?

Oh man, I officially love you.
I tried to figure it out on my own, and got about 2 inches done, including the star, and then realized it looked nothing like the picture. It was really horrible.
I think I'll restart it right now... Hopefully it won't keep me up all night again until 2 pm haha.
Thank you thankyouthankyouthankyou.
903  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Toner Craftlace lanyard multi-braiding on: June 05, 2007 06:54:54 AM

I went to Hob Lob yesterday and my fiance pointed out this plastic uhmm braiding stuff called Craftlace (I'm sure you've seen it before) and I just had to buy it because it had an awesome keychain in the picture and I erroneously assumed there would be directions to make it.
I'm able to do a single box braid (or square knot/braid, or crown knot) really well but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to make one with multiple braids connected like this one - the one on the left with the stars
Does anyone know either how to do it or a tutorial or something for this?
904  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Washer necklace from HGTV, Diamond What? on: June 03, 2007 07:45:34 PM
I'm going to make a washer necklace (and probably some earrings) that I saw from HGTV's Creative Juice (I think that's the name of the show) and it looked really cute. The only thing is, I'm looking for something they used on the show but can't remember the whole name of it. Diamond Somethingorother. It was something similar to mod podge but not quite; they said it looks similar to glass when it dries.
Anyone know what it is?

Yes, check out page 73, there's an image tut that shows how to do it so your back is covered.!

Congrats! btw ... just curious, how do you know your bf is going to propose?  I always thought those things surprised you lol.

Well, we talked about getting married a lot, and I saw the receipt for my ring, so ...*shrugs* He ended up just asking me to marry him in his car at the beach. (Pretty similar to how my dad proposed to my mom haha)

What about this one https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=104089.0 ...only one seam, so quick and easy and you can wrap it lots of different ways! You wouldn't even need a pattern then Smiley

Oh goodness. I love the people on this website!
Although each suggestion is a good one, each one is better than the last!

I don't know what the back of my inspiration dress looks like, but I LOOVEEE the front of this dress. I'm just worried about the back because it doesn't look bra-friendly and I have large boobs. Hmmmm.
Drats. I really need to go to Walmart.

to see if it is similar to what you want.
(It's called Swishy Christmas Dress if the link doesn't work. And I can't remember what the pattern is.)

Guess I haven't been as helpful as I thought.
All the best.

Oh man! I love that one! I think when I go to WalMart I'll look for that other pattern and DEFINATELY this one. HEART HEART HEART.
I'm super excited.
I hope he proproses tomorrow, but if he does, I wouldn't have enough time to make that dress. :/ Sadness.

That actually is pretty similar, but I think I'd have to alter it a lot. I don't follow patterns as well as tutorials, for some reason.
Thank you, though! I really appreciate it. I just got a FITTY dollar (hehe) gift card to Walmart; I think I'll look for the pattern and some white material before they close down the fabric section.
Stupid walmart/

910  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / engagement dress i want to make... on: December 22, 2006 01:20:15 AM
So. My boyfriend is about to propose, and I want to wear a nice dress for when he does.
I bought a really pretty pair of shoes that I've never worn, so I thought they would be good to wear. They're stilettos, covered in an ivory faboric, and black piping.
I've tried finding something that would match in the stores but I can't, so I figured I'd make it.
I can't post pictures yet, but here's the link to my inspiration: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v378/TheKster/dress.jpg
I figured I could use the tutorial for circle skirts for the bottom part, and then just figure out the halter part as I go.
Any suggestions??
