Oh, those are lovely! Can't decide which one I like more, but the Lost one is so cool. I can't WAIT for the finale!
2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: All Glory To The Hypnotoad! on: April 09, 2007 12:58:28 PM
He's just over 4" tall...I moulded the back partly over a jar, then fired the rest of in stages (back, then hind legs, then the front , which I propped up with newspaper then the front legs) to keep it sturdy as I worked. Im not sure what an armature is!
3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / All Glory To The Hypnotoad! on: April 09, 2007 07:53:37 AM
Because Everbody Loves Hypnotoad!

This is the very first sculpture and polymer clay thing I've done and I'm quite proud of it. The hardest part was definitely working out his markings and the face...he's not exactly drawn consistantly. He's possibly slightly cuter than he should be but I don't care, I love him! (or maybe I'm just hypnotised to think I do...)

I was supposed to be doing essays...but instead I played around with makeup! Oh well!

It needs a bit of work but I like it. Barry M dazzle dusts are absolute genius.

And I'm really glad someone else shares my way of thinking about V-day. If only I weren't the only single one of my friends because I'd suggested the same thing (but they already all had dates).

I dislike the implication that if you don't have a partner on valentines day you're supposed to curl up and cry in bed all day feeling sorry for yourself. That pisses me off so much I grabbed all my single friends and tried to take V-day into our own hands. Its nice that there are others who don't see it as a reason to just cry and stress. Its a day about love! Doesn't have to be romantic love! </rant over>
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My Fabulous Anti-Valentines Dress on: February 13, 2007 05:10:59 PM
This year I'm throwing a wonderful and fabulous Anti-Valentines Day Party at my favourite bar and so I figured its as good a reason as any to make a new dress and bust out my beloved dress form, Esme, that I got for christmas. She's a sexy sexy dressform but I haven't made anything on her yet! Damn uni, gets in the way of the important things in life.

Anyway, the dress. I wanted something very happy widow, very alluring and devastating but not pink and happy and in love because that's not the point! So I made this dress, it took a couple of days. Its black drill of some kind with chocolate brown faux fur collar and satin bias binding on the bottom. Im thinking of throwing together a little hat with a net veil for tomorrow.

I'm wearing a petti with it to puff it out a bit to get the balance right.

Sorry the pictures are so crap! Its stupid o'clock in the morning and I just finished dying my hair and I wanted to post it before I went to bed! I've got to get up early tomorrow to buy black roses to hand out to people.

Happy valentines/anti-valentines day!

I think that type of skirt is also called a cocoon skirt. That is a lovely dress though, its on my list to 'recreate' when I get some free time!
I personally would make it using a simple pencil skirt pattern/tutorial, but cut the waist and hips large so you get the poofiness when you gather the waist to the waistband/bust.
For those who can't see it I've uploaded the picture

Hope that helps!

This is simply gorgeous! Leopard print makes everything better. So damn beautiful, it looks amazing on you.
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Giving my dress form a boob job? on: January 06, 2007 08:14:43 AM
Thank you SO freaking much for this! She really does need new boobs and now I look at her, yes, she does not have a bum, so much for fitting skirts. Its all very intensive but I'm going to mod her as soon as I get back to uni, which is where my rag bag is. Thanks soooooo much for all the ideas.
