2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / Maker Faire Display Advice Sought on: March 15, 2008 02:31:54 PM
So I am really excited to be demonstrating leather mask making at the Maker Faire in May here in California.   I have a 10' x 10' space allocated to me.  I have to bring my own chairs/tables and any display that I want to do.

I will not be selling, but demo-ing and talking to people about the process and handing out cards if somebody wanted to buy a mask from me later.

I want the area to look good, I want people to come and get down and do the leatherwork with me/get up close to it.

I have 2 2'x5' tables and some folding chairs.  I also have dozens of masks to display and need space work at a table and space also to let masks dry -

Any ideas?  I don't want to go broke buying display materials, I have lots of fabric on hand and can use it to drape tables or create a big banner=ish sign.

Has anybody else here done something similar?  Any suggestions?

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Vampire / Vampyre Swap Gallery (2007) on: December 19, 2007 07:09:29 AM
I'm starting the gallery so we can get some pics up.

My schwag came in yesterday and is sitting at work waiting for its photo shoot.  With this thread started, I have a place to put photos!

So all you denizens of the dark.  Pull back your capes, roll up your sleeves and get those photos posted!

4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Here's a Weird One... on: June 05, 2007 07:38:24 AM
I got flaked on over a year ago and the organizer also flaked so it was turning into too much trouble to even get an angel and I was mad so I dropped the issue and stopped swapping for a while to cool off.

So yesterday in my messages box is a message from the person who flaked on me saying she hadn't checked to see if I had gotten the package and she hopes I liked it!?!

Now I'm steamed all over again!!!  Let the sleeping flakes lie!

7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Really Old People Swap on: August 19, 2006 12:50:45 PM
So I'm 41 and I can't join the 30 something swap.  I'm feeling VERY OLD and DECREPIT!

What do my fellow old fogey craftsters think of a swap for people who remember the 60's because they were alive?

8  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Baby Combat Boots on: June 26, 2006 03:36:06 PM
I just finished these little leather combat boots.

10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Gargoyle Swap on: February 21, 2006 07:40:41 AM
Gargoyles.    Creepy.  Cute.  I Love Them So...

I'm thinking a swap about Gargoyles as a theme.  Maybe even the cheesy cartoon series too.

Wings, Masks, Little Polymer Clay Gargoyles, Gargoyle Soaps, Gargoyle Paintings...

Anybody else interested?
