1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Deep Sea Dance on: June 05, 2011 05:37:51 PM
I made this baby quilt for my college roommate who just had a baby boy. The Mendocino seahorse and octopi fabric was so much fun. I love the colors and everything about it. There was no pattern. I just did an off-center strip of disappearing nine-patch. I love my new tags too! Thanks for looking!

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Can you stand another "My First Quilt" thread? on: February 10, 2008 04:59:38 AM
Because here's mine!

I bought the fabric already cut on etsy. I wanted to be able to focus on the sewing for my first one. It's for a friend's new baby due in May!

Details are on my blog in my signature!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / butterick 3772 - a line dress - need help please! on: July 15, 2007 08:40:26 PM
I'm making this (simple a-line dress in a size 2) and have my pattern pieces cut carefully, my dress pieces cut carefully, etc. I see that other people on Craftster love this pattern. The problem is, the front is so much shorter than the back (even in the pattern) that when I stitch the sides (right sides together) they are nowhere near the same length.

Then when I put my front facing and right facing in, they don't line up either.

I'm sure I'm overlooking something obvious but what is it?

Thank you!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my finished Lady Eleanor on: November 10, 2006 06:13:50 PM
Drum roll.... here is the finished Lady Eleanor. I love her. She's hard to photograph with a flash and she's long but in real life she's beautiful and cozy. 65 inches long. Nine full balls of Noro Kureyon #124. Not quite as electric-colored as she might appear in these pictures but rich colors. Yay!

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Snoopy's Crayons baby sweater on: April 30, 2006 09:22:34 AM
The yarn is a Schaefer Yarn in the Snoopy's Crayons colorway. It's for a not-yet-born baby girl (not mine) who will get plenty of pink clothes so I went with something bolder!

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / How do I switch to a smaller circular needle? on: November 04, 2005 01:03:52 PM
Let's say I'm knitting along in the round on a 24" circ and need to switch down to say a 12" circ. How do I do that? At the start of a round do I just start knitting onto the 12"? I need the "tube" I"m knitting to stay a tube...
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / question about www.handpaintedyarn.com on: October 16, 2005 08:04:56 PM
What does Gauge 4 mean? A few of the yarns I'm looking at say "Gauge 4" and that's the only gauge info.... Thanks!
