361  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re:Koigu wrap or gypsy shawl? on: March 30, 2004 07:04:30 AM
Well, I've done lots of research online and it seems that there are some problems in the gypsy shawl pattern so now I'm really interested to see if anyone has made it. I love the look but don't want to deal with a screwy pattern....
Thanks in advance...

Has anyone tried these? I saw pictuires on the Koigu website and they look beautiful. I'm wondering where I can get the pattern.  I'll do a search but thought maybe someone here has made one and could comment...

Yay! So there are people out there making this blanket! I'm heading over to my LYS this afternoon to see what they have and check out prices. They've been closed for four or five days while they moved to a larger store and better location.  Good luck!

Okay great - I'm going to find it the cheapest I can and then splurge!! The colors really are beautiful. I don't even know how it'll be for yet but I'm wanting to make it and I can go as slow as I want since there's no timeline! Thanks so much for the advice!

Thanks everyone! I realize wool isn't the most practical yarn for baby items. The last blanket I made was acrylic (for my niece) and has been washed successfully many times.

Mojo - I think I'm looking for something like you said. Maybe not the most practical item for a baby but something in a really beautiful yarn that can be saved for a long time. I'll keep looking for the Koigu a little cheaper. I didn't find ANY on eBay.

Has anyone else made this? I'm surprised so few people have tried it....

Hi everyone - this is my first post on this bb.  Smiley

I'm looking for something mindless but beautiful and think the BBBB will be great. Everyone I know is PG right now! The yarn is pricey and I'm wondering if anyone has made it and what yarn you used. Thanks so much in advance! I did see the thread below on subbing yarn but it didn't mention this blanket. Thanks again!
