21  Re: Sizzle KAL!! in Knitalongs by ijsblokje on: July 14, 2006 09:29:32 AM
I've started.  I'm already working the waist shaping on the back.  The peruvian highland silk looks lovely!  It's got such a nice subtle sheen.

I thought I'd take a photo of my progress.  This is one ball of yarn and the end of the decreases on the back.  I'm making the xs size.

The yarn has tiny little bits of silk in it.  Some people might not like that, but I think it's kind of cute.

22  Re: flower petal shawl KAL anyone? in Knitalongs by ijsblokje on: June 16, 2006 10:40:16 AM
I finished this thing last week or so.  I used knitpicks Andean Silk in Sangria.
I love it so much.

(yes, I also posted this in the completed projects forum)

oo! to change subject, what is it that you have on underneath? is it handknit? where is it from? can i see it by itself without the shrug on?
that's the yoke vest from loop-d-loop.  I tried taking a better photo than I already had.  (I do own a tripod.. I'm just lazy)

methinks I need to move someplace that actually has a winter....

I just looked.  Apparently, they do sell Special Twenty with an English insert on Knit 'n' Thyme

I started working on this, again.  I feel like I'm never going to finish it.  poor little sweater
I began knitting last June.   Roll Eyes

That's my progress thus far.  I just finished row 46 on chart C.

haha  It's so hard to photograph yourself without a tripod.
I love love love the way this sweater fits though.  the waist shaping is very flattering.  This is hands down my favorite sweater pattern.
I will definitely knit another one once I've finished this one.  I'd like to knit Eris for my mom, but I'm not sure if she'd be into a sweater like that. :\

25  Re: Norwegian Stockings KAL in Knitalongs by ijsblokje on: April 24, 2006 09:31:33 AM
I decided I just wouldn't be happy with the heel if I kept it the way it was.. and I'm not great at adapting patterns, especially socks as I've never completed a sock before..
so I decided to make it into a Norwegian legwarmer.  ha
I ripped back to where the heel flap started, worked straight a bit in pattern, then increased and worked in pattern until it was the right length.  I ended with 3 rows of k2p2.  To be honest, I think I'd wear these a lot more often than socks.

now I just need to make another one. I'll probably have action shots when both are finished, so you can see the length, etc.

I'm using knitpicks palette in ash, sky, and mint.

The ribbing does seem like it's a bit loose.  However, I'm using US 3's and my gauge is a bit smaller than the given gauge (I didn't swatch and I don't care  Tongue) so I'm hoping they'll be snug enough to stay up.  I've tried it on already and it seems like it'll be good enough, but I guess I'll have to see how it's going to act once I've got the first one done.

heh, these are my first socks.  I tried knitting a sock once before, but the directions weren't good and I hated the sock, so I don't count that.  It's also my first actual fair isle project.  whee

27  Re: Anthropologie-inspired capelet- By julsey723 in Knitalongs by ijsblokje on: March 09, 2006 01:41:35 PM

Finished!  Well, now that I know how this thing looks, etc, I know what to do and not do when I make my next one.
This one has some kind of random increases and an ill-fated attempt at making a buttonhole.  I know how to do them, but I was trying a new way to do a 1 st buttonhole and that didnt work so well..  and then I realized that the button I was using was too small for the  garment so I took it off.  allora :\
However, it does look nice on.   It still needs a good blocking though.
Sorry I don't have any "action shots" yet.  It's kind of hard to see how big it is in that photo.
Oh and I used Lamb's Pride Bulky.  It's soooo soft, but makes me sneeze.  I must be allergic to mohair?  Regular wool doesn't do that to me.  Or maybe just the tiny fibers flying everywhere irritate my nose.

haha, and yes, I AM going to make another..  this time with some kureyon big I got for 50% off at littleknits.com
I'm waiting for it to arrive in the mail...

ok, so I finished the length, didn't think and did one row of ribbing.  Then I realized I should have tried it on first to see if it fit/was long enough.
Well, the sleeves are perfect, not too tight and will probably grow a slight amount with blocking.  However, I do think it's a bit too short.  Do you ladies agree?

Sorry for the crappy photo, but it's hard to take one of yourself with yarn still on the needles.   Roll Eyes
I guess I'll undo the row of ribbing and knit til it's a bit longer.  The back is definitely a bit short.    Not tonight though.. I'm done with knitting for today.  gosh
I'm not sure if I want to make a couple increases or not.

I know mine's not finished at all, but I thought she looked too cute without ears/appendages and I had to post some photos.

Beck is standing behind her so that you won't see my ugly wallpaper which is going to be painted over sometime this week.

and here she is sleeping.. aww
(haha.. I took this photo so you could better see the purple)

I'm using caron simply soft (her clothes) and woolease (her fur).

30  Re: IK Fall '05 Skacel add pinwheel sweater KAL! in Knitalongs by ijsblokje on: November 17, 2005 03:50:35 PM

thought I'd post the photo again.

Thanks for the pattern!

Whoa.. size 15 needles?  This sure would go very fast.

I'm definitely up for a knitalong.. eventually.  I would need to make some sort of modification as the proposed size is a little bigger than I normally wear.
