1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Last Minute Pirate Outfit on: January 29, 2012 11:20:03 PM
Pirate dress up day!  Lucky kids!

You done good, 15 minutes and $13 saved (I converted into Canadian Cheesy).  The other moms are probably a little intimidated by your sewing skills.  Being able to produce something that most people only can buy in stores is a little bit like magic in our modern society.
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / squeaking derby doll on: January 29, 2012 05:59:01 PM

I wanted to share with you the doll I made for my roller derby mate, Fatal Fantasy.  The doll is made from purple polycotton blend with the bones done in felt.  The original patterns came from here http://www.etsy.com/shop/DollsAndDaydreams though I made some changes and tweaks.

Fatal plays and refs in addition to having a love for skeleton stuffies.  Here she is in her ref jersey.

Fatal also squeaks when you hit her, so I sewed in this obnoxious little squeak toy.

And the roller skates

I blogged about it here if you are interested: http://indietutes.blogspot.com/2012/01/fatal-fantasy-squeaker-skeleton-doll.html

Thanks for looking - I'd be happy to answer any questions Smiley
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / solar dresses on: August 14, 2010 08:50:39 AM
Hey all!  These sundresses I made for my girl came about when I needed something quick to put on my girl in the heat.  They are basic A shaped, with an elasticized back and adjustable straps.  Takes only an hour or so to put together.

If you want, you can find the free pattern here: http://indietutes.blogspot.com/2010/08/solar-dress-free-pattern.html

Q & C welcome!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / private pants! curtain to trousers recon on: March 04, 2010 09:24:12 PM
Hey, all!  I got me a khaki green curtain with pintucks from a thrift store that screamed for a military chic recon.  Here are my little Privates on parade:

I love pintucks, especially when I don't actually have to sew them myself

My children happen to be at the ONLY AGES when they will EVER want to dress like each other.  I am happy oblige.

Q & C welcome!
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: My fairy craft room on: March 04, 2010 08:31:15 AM
It's beautiful!

If you hear strange noises at night from the fabric closet, you should know it's just fabric fairies refolding and pressing your wonderful stash, and not me with a large sack making off with whatever I can carry (including the closetmaid shelving Smiley
