1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Come one come all post your new tattoo IDEAS! on: July 15, 2007 02:54:45 AM
LOL!  I'm from Alaska, too!  I am in Anchorage right now, but moving to Fairbanks in the next few months.

I desperately want a tattoo, and want to do something with flowers but somehow incorporate a ball of yarn and needles into it.  I'm still working out the details of exactly how I'm going to do that though.... Roll Eyes
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Sidewinders! on: June 27, 2007 07:53:22 PM
The yarn is Artyarns Ultramerino 4.  It is awesome!  So squishy and soft.  i haven't washed them yet, so I can't say how well it wears, but so far it has been fantastic!

I finished a pair of Sidewinders!

This is a great pattern for knitting a pair of socks sideways.  The pattern is by NonaKnits and can be found at http://nonaknits.typepad.com/nonaknits/

Vertical striping

Toe Graft

I love these socks!

More info on my blog.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Ravelry! Extra invites... on: May 26, 2007 01:32:58 PM
I put my name on the list several weeks ago, and got my invitation a couple of days ago.  It is SOOOO GOOOOD!  I am so excited about what they have so far, and they are planning on adding even more features.  You can organize your stash, yarn, and projects in a very easy to use format.  Also, everything is searchable.  For instance, say you are working on a project and need one more ball of dye lot 447, but can't find it anywhere.  You can search for it on Ravelry to see if anyone else has that yarn stashed, then message them and see if they can spare a ball.  Or if you're going to make a pattern, you can search for it and see everyone else who is working on it/finished it, and see what yarn and needle size they used, and any problems they had.  It is so AWESOME!!!!

(By the way, my username on Ravelry is bunchkinknits if you are interested in what I have posted so far, and are already a member)
5  UNITED STATES / Alaska / Re: Any Craftsters in Alaska? on: May 13, 2007 12:20:50 AM
You might want to try some of the paint your own pottery places.  Alot of them also cater to ceramics artists, etc.  Cause your certainly not going to find it at Jo anns!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Beaded Yellow Tang (It sounds so DIRRTTYY!!!) on: May 13, 2007 12:15:18 AM
The kit is by Fiberspace, I found this link of an online store that sells their kits

The store in Fairbanks is Inua Wool Shoppe.

I dont know if they do mail orders, but if you are ever in Fairbanks, you have to stop there cause they were awesome!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Beaded Yellow Tang (It sounds so DIRRTTYY!!!) on: May 11, 2007 11:20:18 PM
I bought this kit at a knitting store in Fairbanks, AK.  While it was fiddley, tiny, annoying, and teeny weeny (000 size needles), I am totally in love with this fish!  The beads give it a definite fishy texture, and the beads they included for eyes are perfect.  They had several other kits for things like a clownfish, seahorse, etc. that I want to pick up next time I am there, but for now, I need to knit something on big fat needles!

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Free Twinkle pattern on: May 01, 2007 06:05:13 PM
As I was cruising around the internet, I found this free pattern from the Twinkle book.

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Interweave Knits Summer Preview on: April 20, 2007 01:24:43 AM
Wow!  I just looked for this yesterday, but it wasn't up yet.  I really like the spiral socks and blouson top.  Some of the tanks look cute, but don't look like they have a whole lot of shaping.  It's so hard to tell with the little preview pictures.
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: twenty-something bloggers? on: April 16, 2007 02:01:21 PM
I have been blogging for a little over a year.  It's so much fun!  I am 26, but have been married for 9 years and have 4 kids 7 under.  I'm busy, busy, busy, but seem to get quite a bit of knitting and crafting done anyway.  The 2 most recent posts are about my no good, horrible, terrible week, but after that there is lots of crafting stuff.  Check it out!
