Your handles look nice.  Mine were hard to cut out, and when I tried a woodburning tool, it left
nasty little somethings (can't think of a good word to insert here) that HURT my hand when carrying.

Great job - keep showing us what you're working on.

Yea the woodburning tool does leave little scraps of stuff...but i just shaved them off with a razor blade then sanded it down...  also the embroidery floss makes a nice cushion against your hand... oh and i forgot to mention that the handle has two layers of vinyl for support and the bottom has a piece of vinyl as well

I love the fabric!!  The colors are great.... very 70's.  Is that fabric vintage or new?

I found the fabric at salvation army too! so i have no idea what time period its from...but they were curtians before i copped them up!
I love the fabric, too!
How did you get it to hold it's shape so well? interfacing?  what kind?

Well the plan was to take everything apart and just cover everything in fabric and sew it back together ...So i was taking it apart and doing so very carelessly and sliced right through the vinyl. yikes!  then i realized i had some i had gotten from salvation army and decided to use that instead.  At the bottom i used a piece of cardboard as well to reinforce it. Yay for working at an awesome place!

So i found this horrible looking purse at salvation army, (where i work), it was yellow and vinyl and yuck. I loved the shape of it so i decided to take it home and make a pattern from it and this is how it turned out!

I'd love to know what everyone thinks!

What are you charging for it??

i have no idea... i was thinking $30 but i have never really sold anything i've made before...usually they get given as gifts.

Wow!  No sewing that's awesome.  Cool bag.  Maybe I'll try it sometime.

What's on the bottom layer?  Just fabric or is something reinforcing it?

I used my trusty x-acto knife and slice a straight line part way through the album cover so its double layered cardoard..

and i just realized i Lied! i stiched the handle! okay so i did a little sewing!
