11  The blackwork project that wouldn't die... in Needlework: Completed Projects by rhapsody on: April 13, 2010 11:42:47 PM
This was one of those projects that I started (oh, about 3 years ago), quickly became bored and annoyed by it, stashed it away and then promptly forgot about it.  When I moved a year ago, I found it and went "oh! I should finish this finally!", started stitch and then got bored and stashed it away.  Wink

Anyway, I found it again about a month ago, and this time I was determined to finish the darn thing.  So, here it is--a blackwork square, stitched in black silk embroidery thread on 32 count evenweave.  The pattern is based on a 16th century German pattern.  It's been finished, framed and hung...no longer lurking in the back of my closet taunting me with it's unfinishedness.  Smiley

12  You are an enemy of the Daleks, you will be...embroidered? in Needlework: Completed Projects by rhapsody on: March 14, 2010 01:33:28 PM
I've been on a big cross stitch kick lately, and decided I had to do a Doctor Who themed piece.  After working on it off and on for a month, I'm finally finished with my Daleks.

Worked on 14ct aida, adapted from a crochet chart by meredee (found here: http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m19/meredee/tardis/dalek_pattern.jpg) and the lettering is from a vintage pattern book.

Uh oh, who's that lurking in the picture here?
