1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Shower gifts from my new neice! on: February 03, 2007 07:12:30 PM
I was feeling creative so I made a few things for the shower. I live 3,000 miles away and cannot make the shower so I hope she likes everything! The onesies are simple cheap onesies with colorful fabric pieces appliqued on. I especially like the Vera Bradley, Mom bought her a diaper bag in the same pattern. The burp cloths are of $2.00 a yard super flannel from Wal-Mart, and I made 4, 2 with pink thread and 2 with purple. I also made 2 paci/toy holders (ribbon, snaps and mitten clips) but forgot to take photos. I bundled it all in a pretty box decoupaged with pink rose wrapping paper and sent it out. Can't wait to hear her reaction!
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Introducing Monster Boy! on: February 03, 2007 07:02:15 PM
My 5 YO named him. He's made of some orange fake fur I acquired as a remnant, with fleece eyes machine appliqued on. He is supposed to stop nightmares from bothering my kidlet, but as yet he has not learned his place. Kidlet believes that this is because he has no mouth. He may be right. At any rate, he is quite loved and has a happy place to sleep each night wrapped up in 5 year old love. I have a smallish scrap left over to make one more for kid #2. Perhaps I will give this monster a mouth. He is my first foray into stuffie land and I am proud!

3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Vintagey notecard set (my first project post, img heavy) on: January 10, 2006 05:10:41 AM
Set of all five cards and their envelopes.

Close up of my favorite card.

The inside embellishmment of one card.

They're all different, but fit the theme, and the envelopes are decorated, too. I'm so excited, now I can send my artwork all over the place!
4  California / California: South / San Diego east County crafters?? on: January 08, 2006 09:20:40 AM
I'm new to craftster, but old to SD (10 years) but I live in East County (Santee) and it seems like all the cool craftsters are in North or South County. I'd love to get together with some cool peeps out here closer to me. I'm working on my knitting skills, and I'm into papercrafts, too (collage, notecards, etc.) I work more than full time (I'm on a ship in the Navy) and crafting is my stress relief, but I'm about to hit shore duty for 3 years and won't be working 60+ hours a week anymore. So I'll have plenty of time to get out and meet new people and CRAFT! Anybody know of any groups I shoud join up with? And knitting circles out here that wouldn't mind a knitting newbie? Thanks! Jeni
