1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / LittleBigPlanet, Mario, and Katamari themed shirts (image heavy) on: December 28, 2008 12:09:22 PM
Here are some recent shirts I've made (let's just say it was a video game themed Christmas this year! Wink ):

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Advent Calendar Tree - IMG Heavy on: November 29, 2008 02:22:44 PM
I always enjoy looking at all of the advent calendars posted here, so I thought I'd share mine for this year.

I was wanting something that could be used again from year to year, and was inspired by the "special delivery self-mailing note" project found in the Handmade Hellos book.

Here is a group shot of all the envelopes I made:

Here is the advent calendar on display:

Each envelope is clothes-pinned to a branch that I wrapped in white yarn.

Here is a close-up of one of the envelopes (front and back):

And here is one of the envelopes opened:

Yay! Grin
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Onesies for Mario and LOST fans on: July 21, 2008 06:57:17 AM
Here are two onesies I recently stenciled for a friend.

They had a girl, so every little girl has a bit of princess in her right?

The parents are also big LOST fans, so I saw this idea on cafepress and had to try it out myself - The Dharma Changing Station  Grin (sorry the lighting is terrible!)
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Circular Pet Bed on: May 18, 2008 11:59:07 AM
Here is my attempt at making a dog bed for my corgi. He has chewed through 2 other beds already, and I am hoping that having a bed with a lack of corners will deter him from chewing on this one. So far, so good.

Here is the bed:

And an action shot:

If I was to do it again I think I would add one more bag of poly-fil - this one used 3 and I thought it would be overkill to add another one, but it does flatten out a bit after some use.
5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Pi Day Pi-rate Shirt on: March 15, 2008 08:33:56 AM
My husband's office had a Pi Day Party yesterday, so I made him this shirt to wear to the festivities.

Get it? Pi-rate??  Wink
I got the idea from a shirt I saw on CafePress, but changed the design to something I liked better. It was a big hit.
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / "dirty thirty" themed birthday? on: January 10, 2008 07:13:15 PM
Does anyone have any ideas for what I could do for a "dirty thirty" themed birthday party?

I thought it might be funny to make the invitations be embedded in clear bars of soap (haha - get it...dirty??). But after that I am at a loss. I'm not really very good at planning parties...  Undecided

Date to send item by: 11/26/07

- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES

- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: n/a

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES

Details of swap: *UPDATED*
Since we did not have 24 people sign up we will be splitting into two groups of ten. Everyone in the group is still assigned a month, which will then leave 2 months unassigned - to compensate for that everyone will do 1 bonus page for each of those months - in the end you will still end up doing a total of 12 pages and each person will have collected 12 pages, one for each month, to create their very special, one-of-a-kind calendar to enjoy for all of 2008.

The months that are not assigned are July & August. So if I use myself as an example I am assigned the month of November - I will craft 10 pages for November (1 to keep for my calendar, 9 to send to my other partners). I will then also craft 1 additional page for July & 1 additional page for August to be sent - for a total of 12 crafted pages.

All calendar pages should measure 10"x10".

Since the envelopes will probably be too thin to get a DC#, DC#s will not be required for this swap. When you send your pages though you MUST get a receipt from the post office to prove that you have sent.

Please PM me every time you send and receive a calendar page. It will make my life a whole lot easier!! Smiley

9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Handmade Calendar Swap? on: September 26, 2007 05:53:52 AM
I saw a couple of these swaps going around on various blogs last year, and I'm hoping maybe there would be enough interest to have one on craftster this year.

Basically we'd have a group of 12 (or multiple groups of 12 if there was enough interest) - and each person in the group would make a page for one particular month x 12. Keeping one page for their calendar and then sending the rest out to the other members of your group. At the end everyone would have an awesome, handmade, limited edition calendar. Grin

Hopefully that made sense!  Smiley I was thinking we could have sign-ups starting sometime in October and then send-outs no later than November 26 so that we can make sure there is plenty of time for everyone to receive all of their months before the new year.

Any interest?

(I'm also open to any suggestions/changing the time frame, etc...)

Here is a link to flickr photo pool from one of last year's swaps:
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Nightmare Before Christmas Votive Holder on: October 26, 2006 08:29:19 AM
hm...I hope this is the right board to post this in  Embarrassed

this is a votive holder that I used etching cream on...

from the front:

and if you turn it towards the wall this is what you get:

If I had to do it again I would choose a holder that wasn't curved - that was pretty tricky to maneuver.

Thanks for looking!
