1  Re: Vintage Halloween Swap 2017 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by SonjaBoo on: September 21, 2017 07:27:06 AM
This gallery is amazing! Life has been insane here, and I am so late with everything for this swap. Thank you to rockingbearranch and kittykill for your patience!

I received a gorgeous package from rockingbearranch this week and adore every bit of it! She sent a pumpkin pompom that is just too cute, a laser-engraved haunted mansion art piece, and an adorable jack o lantern guy illustrated on a piece of a reclaimed shipping pallet.

Some close ups:

Thank you so much!! Your package will finally be en route tomorrow!

3  Hedwig Paper Clay Owl in Completed Projects by SonjaBoo on: August 08, 2017 02:54:07 AM

I made this little guy for my partner in the bird, bee and butterfly swap. He is inspired by something from her Pinterest board, but of course I can't find the link now. Anyway, he is made from paper clay and painted with acrylic paints, and is somewhere between 3-4" tall.

Thanks for looking!

I sent to Mama Butterfly a while back, but she hasn't had a chance to post photos. So here's a quick look at what I sent!

First up, a steampunk inspired Bee canvas:

Next, a paper clay owl from Harry Potter -- this was inspired by something on one of her Pinterest boards:

And finally, a butterfly necklace inspired by one from Anthropologie:

I had a lot of fun crafting for this swap!

5  Gelli Print Rainbow Heart in Completed Projects by SonjaBoo on: August 04, 2017 05:46:22 AM

I've been doing a lot of gelli printing and painting on random papers lately, which is really addictive. And because it's so addictive, my stack of papers has been getting quite high and really needed to be used somewhere. I came across a $4 dollar paper mache heart at Michaels last weekend and realized it was the answer to my problem!

Using a 1" circle punch (honestly, that thing is the best craft investment I have ever made -- I use it a LOT), I went to town on my papers, selecting different colors for the look I was going for.

Then, using some gel medium and starting at the bottom of the heart, I began to adhere circles in sort of a fish scale pattern. I decided I wanted a rainbow look, so I went through the colors accordingly and punched extra circles when I needed them.

Here's a look at a few of the papers I was playing with for this project.

After I adhered my circles, I went over the entire heart again with a layer of gel medium to seal it all down. In total, the project only took a few hours and used up a bit of my stash. And it's super happy -- I have a giant rainbow heart to gaze at whenever I want! Cheesy

Thanks for looking!

6  Re: Junk Journal Gallery in The Swap Gallery by SonjaBoo on: June 03, 2017 04:11:54 PM
This gallery does not disappoint! I received from Sinjah last week and have been painfully slow in getting photos up -- I'm so sorry! Here's a look at the beautiful book she sent.

We also agreed to send along some extra fun paper goodies so that we'd have something to decorate our journals with. Here are some gorgeous washi samples!

And a sideways view (I can't seem to get this photo to cooperate) of the awesome papers, stickers and doo-dads.

Thank you so much for an awesome swap, Sinjah! I hope your journal arrives soon!

7  Button holder hoopla in Completed Projects by SonjaBoo on: April 02, 2017 07:32:20 AM
I seem to keep accumulating button/pins for some reason, but never wear them. I decided to display them in my craft room, and finally figured out and easy way to do so -- with a hoopla!

I painted the hoop white, then grabbed some  lime green fabric that I have had forever and used that for the background. Then I hot glued a bright blue beaded trim around the edges for an accent.

After that, I attached the buttons and still have some room to grow! An easy-peasy project that uses up some stuff I had kicking around and helps me organize. I'm enjoying it.

Here it is with its crafty friends. Thanks for looking!

8  Re: Planner/Journal Supplies Swap: THE GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by SonjaBoo on: March 14, 2017 05:42:58 AM
I received from the lovely stellato_escuro this week and am finally getting photos up! Here's all the awesome loot! Cheesy

And a closer view of the awesome bee pockets, hand-carved stamps and clips that she made. Love them! (Also, check out those corn erasers! So hilarious!)

She also sent along some washi tape that I am currently obsessed with, a heart white out pen (it leaves a heart trail -- I had no idea such a thing existed -- so cool), some metallic ribbons, clips, stickers for my planner... so much goodness! Thanks for the awesome swap! Cheesy

9  Steampunk altered tea tin in Completed Projects by SonjaBoo on: March 09, 2017 04:01:54 PM
I made this tin for Wulf during the altered tea tin swap from a former Twinnings herbal tea tin. I haven't made many steampunk items, but really loved creating this!

Here's the tin in the beginning stages:

I used a variety of alcohol inks and patina paints to get the copper colors. For the outer sides and top, I ran some sheets of metallic sticker paper through my Sizzix Big Shot and embossed them with a brick folder and a clock folder. Then I went to work on those surfaces with the inks and paints.

The knob on top is something I had in my craft hoard, the feet are from the Ranger line and the gears on the front were also from my stash. I personalized the inside with Wulf's name and some fun letters that I distressed.

All in all, this was one of my favorite projects ever! Thanks for looking!

I received a phenomenal tin from camelama last night! She created a bee tea party for me -- how awesome is that?

Here's the back, which is also gorgeous:

And a close up of the tea party. There are even bees buzzing around to check out the goods!

And a final photo with all the extras she included-- I can have my own tea party now!

Thank you so much for an amazing swap, camelama!
