32  fun pin cushion in Completed Projects by SarahFroggy on: April 24, 2004 07:04:51 PM
k this is going to sound odd. but i made this pin cushion today because i have one that is shaped like a chicken and i feel back sticking pins into him. it makes him look like a voodoo chicken and that makes me sad  Sad

so i made this up today a la penny rug style and now i have a guilt free pin cushion, and its pretty cute too if i do say so myself.  Tongue

not super special but i've noticed a lack of posts with pictures this week (possible everyone else had finals too) so i 'm celebrating being done with school till september and craftyness in general.

oh and its made out of felt thats why it's radioactive looking..hehe
enjoy

k so the bird is still under construction. i just don't like the way the head looks...so i'm leaving it for a day or two, gotta modify the pattern somehow. anways so in the meantime(tonight) i made another daffodil. its a gift for a lady on one of my msn groups who sent me a nice quilting book in the mail. i hope she likes it

enjoy.

34  faux tile table top in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by SarahFroggy on: April 17, 2004 07:14:47 PM
this is the top of a nightstand that i covered with faux tile
magazines cut into one inch squares just looked for solidish colours with fun textures

i'm not 100% sure how i glued them on ( do see podgy in the corner of the picture so that could be a hint) but i know that i sealed it with clear diamond varnish like a million times. does need to be touched up though after lots of use cause it starts to peel..which mine is doing now but i made it like three years ago

35  fun exciting quilts in Quilting: Completed Projects by SarahFroggy on: April 17, 2004 07:06:53 PM
thought i would post two of the quilts i've made. nice to show hard work to crafty people who understand the efforts involved Tongue sorry for the nasty pictures big things are hard to photograph when you have a tiny apartment Tongue

my first real quilt(this is excluding the too simple patch-on patch checkerboard one i made): the bug blocks are from two books and the big jar and hand applique's flowers and bugs are all my own design.

this is the one i made for my boyfriend for christmas. he requested this design (not one i would choose to do on my own Wink labour of love for sure. took a loooong time Smiley

38  Re:Yay! Dinosaur purse! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by SarahFroggy on: April 16, 2004 03:26:26 PM
craftymed the only way to explain this is with pictures. i have one before with nothing in it and after with my wallet only in it. i want it to stay stiff. i do have velcro in it but thats not really helping. the other one i made i just put two handles and put them on the sides that way it didn't happen.
i did have interfacing but i'm thinking some much stronger stuff would be good

39  cherry d ring belt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by SarahFroggy on: April 13, 2004 10:11:44 AM
i made this belt yesterday instead of working on an essay. oops. its cute though so thats gotta count for something..hehe

very easy just cut strip of fabric a bit longer than what you want the belt. and the width 4 times what you want the finished to be. just iron the fabric in half and then open it up and fold the two ends to the middle. then sew it up folding the ends in pretty of course. basically the construstion is like the handle for the jordy purse which i'm sure we've all seen. then you just thread the d-rings on and sew them in. easy easy. its similar to cameras4toys' ribbon belt. https://www.craftster.org/yabbse/index.php?board=42;action=display;threadid=3930;start=msg31000#msg31000 going to make one of those next.
very quick and fun.

40  embroidered robot on t-shirt in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by SarahFroggy on: April 12, 2004 10:18:11 PM
though i would share some of my excitement over the robot i embroidered onto a plain black tshirt. the robot came from jenny hart's atomique pattern on http://www.sublimestitching.com i changed it a tiny bit because i had to resize it and the details wouldn't fit. i think he turned out pretty well for my first embroidery type project. with the exception of blanket stitching everything. sorry for the one nasty looking photo.
