11  Re: help! i'm a mess. in Discussion and Questions by SarahFroggy on: July 24, 2004 06:02:30 PM
coffee i would like to thank you for inspiring me to get my bins and boxes of fabric organized. we went to niagara falls this past week and i convinced my man to take me to the states and to target. so needless to say i spent all night assembling this (they lied when they said on the box assembles in minutes) and spent today sorting and organizing. (thanks carrie)

so the fat quarters are in the cubbies, the first drawer houses ziploc bags of scraps sorted by colour (thanks again carrie Tongue) and the second drawer patterns and i think ribbon
then the bottom the larger pieces.

i have yet to tidy the rest of my crafty mess but may post later on when i get it done

so here is it

12  how should i make this shade cool? in Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions by SarahFroggy on: July 14, 2004 02:06:28 PM
so i have this lampshade frame from my mom and want to make it fun and funky. i saw a cool one at the bead store that they strung seed beads onto wire and wraped them all down the chain. would be cool but also quite costly.

any other fun ways to decorate it?

15  i covered that darn bookshelf in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by SarahFroggy on: July 04, 2004 12:24:06 PM
so i'll start by saying that i did not invent this idea i saw it on a canadian decorating show (home to go) and i decided that not only was it the easiest thing in the world to do..but it would also make the disorganized clutter of the bookshelf disappear..yay! its actually not that disorganised just so many colours of books and dvd's and such make it look visually cluttered Tongue .. also wanted to hide the bookshelf cause its not fun to look at from the couch which is directly across the apartment from it. (a good 10 ft. Tongue can you tell its a small place?)

its a dowel with two drawer knobs screwed on either end. and i used eye hooks to hold the dowel on (they said cuphooks but when i went to home depot they didn't have silver so eyehooks it is) and you just make a rod pocket on the top of the fabric. (this piece was a remnant that i couldn't pass up. but white would make a really bad purse as far as dirt is concerned

note the clutter around the bookshelf...hehe thats my next task.its very hard to be crafty and organized, when i put everything away i just need to get it all out again Undecided

the bookshelf is the standard ikea variety. i think its called billy. mine's silver.

k i'm done with the novel..here's the pic
Edit: better pics.

18  Re: Tic-Tac Cans in What the heck can I do with THIS? by SarahFroggy on: June 22, 2004 09:17:11 AM
my idea was also light but somewhat different more of a chandelier. it would involve a centre ring and hanging them from it around using some sort of loop with a lightbulb suspended inside. i would also take the labels off so it has more of a stylish look (also would be less messy since you had mentioned that was a problem)

this is a nasty sketch of what i mean so you know what i'm talking about..hehe. i think it would look awesome (i might have to start eating tic tacs (Tongue)
