1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Need some help with bobbles on: January 03, 2007 07:39:54 AM
So I am trying to make knitty's Bobblicious and I am having some problems with the bobbles. I've been trying them, and I just can't seem to get the stitches loose enough to do the first step (k1 front and back) the required number of times. The final product always ends up way too tight, and sitting on the point of the needle.
Is loosening the stitch just something that takes some practice, or is there some detail that I'm missing.

Thanks =)

I have a question about reworking this pattern - I wanted to use it to make a bag for a tarot deck instead of a cellphone/ipod. Only problem is I'm so bad at patterns I couldn't figure out exactly how to make it work. Anyone have any advice?

Wow, that store has gorgeous yarn all around. I especially love the Little Lovely and Whale's Road. OMG want.

OMG I love the dominatrix set. If only I had known about this website last semester....I'd have used it as my final project in my postmodern art class LOL

I would like to know who thought it would be a good idea to knit a bathing suit. Lobodomies all around...

See, now that add wouldn't make me want to buy Lion brand any more than I already do, but it IS nice to look at. ^_^

Yes, I definately do. Everytime I go to the craft store I wind up spending much more money than I planned on, and come home with balls of yarn I don't even know what I'm going to do with. I've got 6 skeins of Lion Brand homespun sitting in my kitchen glaring at me and demanding a purpose.

I'm not nearly that advanced, but I would think knitting in the round would be the best way to go. I was actually surprised at the way they patterned that on DIY.

Is it possible to knit the shape you need and attach it to the shoe afterwards, rather than knit directly onto the shoe..?

Wow thank you guys! I thought it looked pretty terrible. To be fair though this was my 5th try....the last four I got as far as the third row and then frogged it.

Thank you again for the compliments. My knitter friend said she thinks some of the screw ups I couldn't figure out might have been that I ruined the yarn from pulling too tight.

Aaand I am sooooo addicted. ^__^

Actually I have a random question....does the distance between stitches in your cast on affect how wide the piece will be?

Wow, I'm impressed. I wouldn't have had the patience to do that.

Oh, and I <3 pink. So that makes it even more awesome. So awesome it almost made GIR forget about his tacos...

I don't know of anyplace that sells them ready made, but here:http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/shows_djmk/episode/0,2046,DIY_16161_32887,00.html is a great project for making your own charms with a photo or printed picture. So, download some 50's pin-up girls and make your own charms! ^_____^
