1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Name ideas for product site? on: February 21, 2006 06:23:47 PM
Okay, I admit, I'm in the very very very early stages of designing this thing. I'm first working on making a hoarde of stuff to sell.
Haha, yeah I have a loan. From my mom.  Wink
The stuff I'm making is very bold, bright, some of it's a bit political (shirts I'm planning on screenprinting) really artsy (not fartsy, though, none of this pretensipous vintagey stuff) plus some of my art, whick is the same, quirky bold etc. I have crocheted stuff, sewn stuff, wooden things, jewelry, yeah I do everything.

So what do you think? I'm at a total loss. I have no idea.
(if it posts twice don't blame me, the computer spazzed..sorry)
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Need help with ribbing in single crochet on: February 21, 2006 05:58:39 PM
That would be front post double crochet.  You actually explained it better than a lot of the stitch guides I've seen.  LOL
Cheesy Thanks.
You can do that ribbing in sc.  I'm making a hat doing that now.
Really? Well. Awesome.

A good way to do this is to make a stitch chart, just google it for a good one, and use that ot tell you when to switch colors, and do it as flat peice.

I actually just found out a way to do ribbing in crochet!! It was in double though, I don't know if it works with single.
What I did was start it off in double crochet, doing one row of that. On the second row, dc in one dc, then on the next go around the dc, not though the top loop..you know what I mean?  Anyway, when you do that I makes it stick up, and on each row you keep going under the stitch in the same place so you get a line of stuck up stitches.
That probably made no sense, I'll illustrate it if you need me to.
7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Re: Back of amigurumi doesn't look as good as front on: February 13, 2006 04:32:29 PM
Decreasing for me always leaves holes when I just skip the stitch but it covers it up a bit more when you insert the hook into both stitches instead.
If that doesn't help...make it a cape?
8  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Heading Towards Veggie on: February 13, 2006 03:13:06 PM
I could say what loads of other people have said, but I won't.
However, when you do buy fish, make sure if it's salmon that it's not full of coloring, casue whoever processes those things love to go CRAZY with the red dye.
Other than that, everyone else has covered. Good luck  Smiley
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Why I started crocheting again after ...... years on: February 05, 2006 06:42:21 PM
I crocheted a lot when I was in 4th to 5th grade, but I never got past Beginner level and was basically making up my own stisches, calling single half double and such. Then I stopped, and then started again all of a sudden in 8th grade. Now I crochet constantly, whenever I'm not drawing or doing school stuff or whatever. And I consider myself to be at Pretty Damn Good level, which is fast for only a year. Cheesy
Crochet rocks.  Smiley
