21  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Very First Knitted Anything - A Scarf! (woo) on: January 05, 2006 12:19:35 PM
Do mind tell us what pattern you used?

I uh. didn't use any pattern. Should I have used a pattern? ahh. I have no idea how to read patterns so I just knit by intuition. yeah... that's it Smiley

What I did was I cast as many stitches as I could onto my needles. (I have absolutely no clue how many that was.) Then I knit 2 rows and pearled 2 rows until I thought it was thick enough, then I cast off it all. I added fringe and made some random pom poms.

I used almost exactly one skein for the scarf and then part of my second skein for the fringe and pom poms.
22  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: Plant for bathroom on: January 04, 2006 01:08:40 PM
I have a peace lilly in our bathroom and it has done well for over 4 years. It hasen't flowered since it has been there though, but I don't really like the flowers anyways.

What kind of yarn did you use?

I used Patons Divine yarn (acrylic, mohair and polyester) - it is totally soft and doesn't hardly shed at all.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, the mat in "Blue Door" does look a bit harsh. This photo is a bit off of the real colours - the mat is more brown and gray in the real painting and is almost tonally the same as the door itself so it doesn't stick out as much.

Thank you for your feedback!

Well, that particular dragon pose I drew a LOT. So i'd say practice is a very good thing. I drew that with a mechanical pencil to get really tiny details and then used a smudging stick (I can't recall the proper name) to blend it a lot.

That is very cool! Old school Nintendo is definitely a generation definer. Good job!

Thank You!

Yes, he is all by hand. I do have a sewing machine, but I am afraid to use it.

I think I could do the blanket stitch in my sleep. haha
28  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Repainted Mirror Frame on: January 01, 2006 10:47:05 PM
I bought a cheap white mirror that was on clearance and painted over the scratched frame with a quilted like pattern. I would like opinions since the only people who have seen it are family and they have a slightly biased opinion. Thanks!

29  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Dragon Sketch on: January 01, 2006 10:43:54 PM
This piece is a few years old - I am out of my dragon phase now, but I would still like some feedback. I am so very proud of this drawing. Thanks for looking!

30  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Some of my paintings (lots o pics) on: January 01, 2006 10:42:10 PM
All of these paintings except for the "cracker cat" and "heartstrings" are done on hardboard ("cracker cat" and "heartstrings" are on canvas) using acryllic paint and some jiffy marker.

Cracker Cat

Uppity Bird

Blue Door

Cat Nap

Heartstrings (hanging on the wall - excuse the funny angle)

Thanks for looking!
