21  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Broken Spool Pin for Mystery Machine *Pictures inside* on: August 21, 2007 02:11:32 PM
I hope someone can help me. This sewing machine is a gift and in transit the spool pin broke! The only problem is I have never heard of the machine. Neither has any of my local sewing repair shops. They all said to bring it in. What little info I do have has brought up nothing in google, ebay or amazon. So I turn it over to you guys. Here is what I do have:

The Manual: Not much help here. Except for the model #

The front of the machine says Silken on it in the top right hand corner of the machine. The internet broght up no sewing machines under this name.

The Back of the machine has dragonfly written on it. Though I did find a site that supplies dragonfly machines there wasn't a 660 there.

Oh and if you are curious. Here is the broken part.

Anyone know if there are replacement parts around? Or anyone see somthing I am missing? This is my first sewing machine that I don't have to share and want to use it as soon as I can. Thanks!

22  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / First Bead and Chain Necklace on: March 27, 2007 05:12:42 PM
Lately I have been experimenting with my beads and had a lot of left over beads. So this necklace came about. My favorite one is the twinkly one on the left. Please let me know what you think.

You can see a better picture of what the chain actually looks like in the photo below.

This is a picture of the clasp. I couldn't get to good of a photo of it, this is my best one.

P.S. - Many thanks to my suite-mate for modeling.  Kiss
23  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Girls Shorts to Cute Purse *photos!* on: June 30, 2006 02:18:51 PM
OK, so this is my first purse and sewing project that I have done since 7th grade (I graduated this June) so please no harsh comments. But so far I have seen only nhice comments here on craftster, so I am not afraid. That and I have gotten alot of comments about it  Grin So without further babble here is my purse.

The idea of this purse is the same as all of the jean purses out there. I made this one, had no fabric to line it with and made two other jean purses, this is the only purse that is completed at the moment. The others need little touches here and there, so I am just showing this adorable one off. The lining fabric was so fun that I had to buy it! It was on sale, my favorite type of fabric  Cool

I had a slight problem with the straps because I didn't have legs to use (they were shorts) so I just grabbed the hem off of each one and sewed them together then to the bag. I am not to happy with the sewing (its difficult for me to sew a straight line, but I am getting better!) or the zigzag stitching that attatched the lining to the outsides.

The button and zipper still work, I didnt even mess with anything on the pockets or the original waist.

Girly Shorts (.66, bought at thriftstore) + Clearanced Fabric ( 1.00$ per yd divided by 4 = .25) + Random ribbon and sewing thread (all of which I already owned its free!) = Cute girly bag + lots of compliments for only .91 cents! Now thats my kind of fashion.

Please tell me what you crafty brains think!

P.S. This is my first post with images & my first posted project

25  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Coin purse swap (#4?) on: January 21, 2006 09:12:05 PM
Anyone have any idea if another one of these is going to be happening? I really liked the pictures and the whole idea and would love it if it is my first swap here on craftster! There is no way I would organize it, I want to get used to swaping here first before I try anything like that.  Roll Eyes So I looked through this board and didnt see any recent boards about this. Any one interested in hosting another one?
26  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Handfasting Ideas? on: December 28, 2005 08:09:57 PM
I am not technically engaged (he just has to ask formally  Cool) and I am pagan. Though my parents dont know just yet (Im almost 18) and wont know until I move out... I have to wait until graduation. My plan is to have the ceremony in October of next year and loved the butterflies thread. But I am still wondering if anyone has any ideas for handfastings. I have read a few books and want a really simple ceremony and reception. It wont be to out of the box for my non-pagan guests. I was just wondering if anyone else was in this situation. We really dont have alot of money and my hunny has left all of the decisions up to me (we could get married in the courts and go to Burger King for all he cares) which is great! Except that I dont have anyone to sound off ideas on. So all that blabering out of the way... Does anyone have any ideas?

P.S. This is my first post! Yay!
