1  glitter monster shoe makeover (link to tutorial!) in Shoes: Completed Projects by lovething on: March 25, 2012 02:35:44 PM

I had an old pair of shoes I rarely wore, so I decided to make them AWESOME.

These are definitely more my style. I coated them in fine glitter, sealed them with polyurethane, and added some hand sewn felt appliques to the toes. Now I have something unique to wear to parties (or the the grocery store, whatever). I love them so much that I put together a tutorial on my blog. Check it out! http://alternamommy.blogspot.com/2012/03/tutorial-glitter-monster-shoe-makeover.html

This mini gallery is property of Lovething. No trespassing!  Tongue

I'm going to post a few of my favorite pictures here, but I'll post many more throughout the swap in my Flickr set!

Here's Mary Beth sending herself off. I mailed her last week so hopefully she'll be arriving at her destination today (fingers crossed)!

kwality570 picked my skulls theme and sent me this adorable little fabric bowl! I love it, especially the skull's wonky eyes. Thanks so much kwality570! Now I just have to find something worthy of storing in it.

It also makes a very snazzy yarmulke  Cheesy

I made this little guy for the Coraline swap (really, what Craftster member could see that movie and not want to make one of these?). I've seen a few knitted and crocheted versions but I have no idea how to do either of those, so I made one out of fleece instead. I just kind of winged the pattern, trial-and-error style, until I was happy with it. He's mostly machine sewn, but the legs and bottom are attached by hand. The button eye is polymer clay.

He was hard to part with. I think I'm going to have to make one for myself too.  Smiley

Aww your furbabies are so cute MADness323! I so want a ferret, but I don't have the money/space for one right now. Maybe one day. Here are my fuzz butts  Grin:

8  family portrait in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by lovething on: March 09, 2009 03:35:29 PM
I don't paint very often and I'm definitely no pro, but I have a lot of fun when I do. Here's a little portrait I painted of our family almost a year ago. Smiley

It's acrylic on canvas board, with permanent marker for the outlines

OMG he is absolutly adorable!!! I love the Q on his shirt too!!! I am going to have to test making those out. If you don't mind me asking what pattern do you use? Thankyou!

I actually made my own pattern, but it was inspired by this one: http://youcanmakethis.com/info/toys-activities/John-Doll-15-inch.htm  Grin

Zelda.Suicide totally spoiled my kid! Here's what she sent:

adorable crocheted bear ears (I will totally be borrowing these)

a crocheted knight helmet! this is so awesome!

fairy bells, which I don't think she has put down since yesterday

a whale skirt...I LOVE this fabric! Where did you get it?

and these adorable knight PJ pants, which she slept in last night

She also sent me some of that great knight flannel.

Thanks so much Zelda.Suicide! Autumn loves everything you made for her. Last night we went out to dinner and she wore the bear ears and the skirt and put the bells on her wrists. It was quite a look  Cheesy

michowl received a while ago but hasn't been able to post pictures, so I'll go ahead and post a few of what I sent her. Unfortunately the pictures aren't the greatest quality and I didn't get shots of everything, but here's what I have.

First the box--this was a plain wooden box that used to hold a card game. I painted it and added a label to make it look like a box of cocoabeetles. The number 8 on the side is polymer clay.

A button eyed squid, made from fleece. The eye is polymer clay.

An Other Mother button box. The colors are weird in the pictures but in real life they're closer to the movie. Also, the stripes do line up properly, but I accidentally put the lid on backwards in this picture.  Cheesy

A polymer clay key to Otherworld:

A circus mouse hat:

A tie for her boyfriend. I took a thrifted white silk tie and hand dyed it, then added the buttons.

And the one thing I didn't photograph was a tote bag. It was made from hand dyed vintage upholstery fabric and a button-and-crossbones applique. Hopefully michowl will be able to post pictures of that when she gets the chance. This swap was a lot of fun to craft for! Hopefully I'll be getting my package soon so I can post more pics!  Smiley
