21  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Knit Beaded Bracelets for Mother's Day on: April 30, 2006 08:26:31 AM
Here are two bracelet I made - one for my mom, one for my gram for Mom's Day! I more or less followed Spun Mag's pattern here http://www.spunmag.com/article/050605bracelet - Super easy to do, once I got the hang of it, I can do a whole bracelet in about an hour and a half.

mom's front
mom's back
 - for theseI cast on 5 then I purled 3 beads then 2 beads,  then 3 then 2... etc.

- For these I cast on 5 then I purled 5 beads and then none, 5 then none, etc.

Thanks for looking! Smiley
22  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / easy plus size shrug pattern? on: March 22, 2006 05:41:51 AM
Hey y'all... prom season is upon us and that means I get suckered into chaperoning not only prom, but the JROTC military ball and probably the underclass formal as well. I have a couple of dresses but I really need a shrug to cover up my ugly upper arms without covering up too much of the dress. I'd make a shawl, but I really need something that will stay on while I'm wrangling hormonal teenagers in rented tuxes and prom gowns.

I saw keridiana's shrug a while back and liked it, but it wasn't written big enough for me. And now the website is down. I'm extremely math challenged and a beginning knitter, so I need something simple and without alot of math for me to mess up.

I really like Knitty's Spring Fling but I'm no where near brave enough to try something with actual sleeves and shaping, but I can handle the lace pattern.

Anybody have any suggestions? Or anybody have Keridiana's shrug pattern and know what I'd need to do to make it bigger (and the sleeves slightly longer!)?

24  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Inuyasha Tshirt, etc on: December 29, 2005 06:27:00 PM
My very first stencil! Wee!

Its for a friend's daughter who is crazy in love with Inuyasha. I did the color photo to black and white and then kinda guessed which parts should be cut out. Did the freezer paper and acrylics w/ fabric medium thing. On the front I put the kanji for 'demon'.

Excuse this craptastic pic, my boyfriend stole my digitial camera to take boring pictures of satellite dishes on his business trip (he's an engineer.) I'll post better ones when I get my camera back, plus pictures of the dragonfly shirt and... Mr. Sparkle!
