1  Iconic Women: Ink on Cardstock in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by KiSSedBYaRoSe on: March 18, 2007 09:22:37 PM
Hey everyone,
All your work is beautiful!
Here is one of my not-so-recent, but favourites. This is a piece I did in highschool, grade 11 if I remember correctly. It's done all in black ink on cardstock, with a 'dip pen', similar to a caligraphy pen but you have to keep dipping the tip in ink because it doesn't have it's own ink resevoir. if that makes sense.. hah. It's done mostly with a stippling technique, which took forEVER. But I think the end result looks pretty cool.
Anyways, enough rambling. Here's a pic (it kind of sucks, but you get the idea Tongue it also looks like theres a sort of glare in the middle, which shouldnt be there. hmmph):

comments/critiscism appreciated! Smiley

2  Re: La Dolce Vita, or Dolce & Gabbana! in Designer Clothing Homage by KiSSedBYaRoSe on: August 15, 2006 02:19:20 PM
i was reading some celebrity gossip magazine the other day at my grandma's house (she's all into the gossip and stuff haha) and it had pictures from Tori Spelling's recent wedding (to Dean McDermott). I instantly noticed she was wearing this dress!!!

There was also this story to go along with the dress...

"Tori Spelling is furious with fashion designer Randolph Duke after he refused to refund her deposit on a wedding dress she thought was "too tacky." The star married Dean McDermott in Fiji on May 7 and had commissioned Duke to design her dress for the island wedding.
Spelling put down a deposit of $4,700 but hated the completed dress calling it "cheesy." Duke has hit back telling publication Us Weekly, "I've never designed a dress for free. She won't get her money back."
The actress ended up wearing a white eye-let dress by Dolce & Gabbana instead."

I HAVE to say though, yours is so much more wearable and KUDOS to you for doing an awesome job!!

hi all, i've been a member here for awhile now..and JUST found this new art/photography thread today! i was so excited. i thought i'd post a few of my photos, these ones are mostly digital. they are ones i managed to upload before my brand-new camera and about 4 memory cards were STOLEN along with my purse a couple of months ago SadSad.

I also have an SLR which i've been using a little more often. i'll try and get some of my SLR prints up here, its not a digital and i develop most of my films and make the prints myself so they arent on the comp..i'll try scanning them. I actually did find a couple films i had developed at the drugstore that came with a digital cd...

4  Gucci dress = my prom dress in Designer Clothing Homage by KiSSedBYaRoSe on: May 15, 2006 09:32:59 PM
well, its really late and i gave up on doing homework..decided i would finally post my dress! prom was last thursday, it was an amazing time..even though it ended up pouring rain all night!! Sad but we had a blast.

anyways, heres the dress--its designed after the one jessica alba wore by gucci. one of my family friends helped me make it! the material was beaded silk, with an ivory satin underneath. the black was surprisingly just black spandex--cheap and stretchy! the beaded fabric was pretty hard to sew with because the machine wouldnt go through the beads, it had to be hemmed by hand..AND we ended up having about 3 days to make the dress--i literally picked it up at 4 pm the day of my prom! its a long story..but all was good, and so here it is, hope you like it!

me and my boy (i know..hes short lol)

love you grandma

the back (you could almost see my crack--we had to safetypin it to my underwear! ahah)

me, my best friend Sophia and the boys

here it is on jessica alba

comments welcome!
thanks, caitlin xox
