i just can't seem to get my head around the technique used to get all the petals together. do you guys glue them to the underside of the button, or do you stitch them together? have you been trimming the pointy tails?

I stitch them together, like this:  Grin

Only I make sure the petals are turned the right way. Wink And I trim the extra stuff, yes.

I did a crochet bag/purse, my second one.  Grin Very small and simple, I probably don't have enough confidence to wear overly striking stuff.  Tongue

The flower is just a pin, made from fabric, I learned from this tutorial. The bag itself is based on this pattern but I didn't follow it that much. Cheesy

My first two tries:

The blue one was first; I guess I made the petals a bit narrow/skinny, and I totally need to make them a bit more uniform.  Cheesy The white one was T-shirt material with a black velvet centre (both the circles are buttons wrapped with fabric), it's a bit cuter-looking. I think I like the fewer-petals look.

I haven't actually glued the pins or centres yet, since I can't find my glue gun...  Undecided

But thanks a lot guys, for posting this project. I haven't done crafts ever since my pre-gotta-study-for-exams days...  Grin
