hey, i'm fairly new here but have been geting so many ideas/ questions answered. i know you all can help me with this one!  Ok, i have a bootie pattern that calls for casting on x number of stitches (20 or something) at the end of a row of x number of stitches.

I had a friend show me a neat way, that was fairly stretchy and looked just like a regular cast on row, but was done with just the one thread. it wasn't just wrapping it around, it was some kind of knot. much like a cast on... urg! i hope i am making sense!

does it have a name? can anyone find a link to how to do it? My friend is out of town for two more weeks and i'm mid pair of booties!!!

for chafing...
 i use body glide. i used it to prevent chafing when i did a marathon. and now i use it whenever i have to wear a skirt without tights. i think it's available in most jogging type places.

works wonders.

i had a real similar experience with name maker labels.
 i ordered iron on and they came 5 weeks later as NOT iron on, and when i called the lady was like, "no, they are iron on..."
and i explained to her that i knew how to work my iron and i can read the instructions... and her responce was "well, they are iron-on"


so yeah, don't order from them.

mine is not quite as fancy as some of these, but it's my first post of something i've done, so here are my first 6 skeins of kool-aid yarn!

i am totally addicted!
the light pink rose stuff will be felted flowers, and the rest will be baby/kid hats.

so, let's say you designed a product. let's say it's a knitted project. and you made up the pattern yourself. now let's say you sell this product. then a few months later you stumble across a pattern on a site that is veeeery similar to the one that you make. and their pattern is copyrighted.

i'm ok right? because i made up my pattern... and there are really only so many different styles of this particular product. and my pattern is different. just not much
