sorta kinda a hint/teaser as it's a small small part of one of my creations, but I got a lesson in shrinky dinks today. guess what happens when your piece is way too long compared to the height....

it curls in and sticks to itself. panicked, i reached in and tried opening it back up, to no avail. lol

15  Pink Malabrigo Scrunchable Scarf & VooDoo Handwarmers in Knitting: Completed Projects by tasha07 on: October 23, 2008 07:44:50 AM
I purchased 2 skeins of Malabrigo Pink Frost off of ebay to make myself a Scrunchable Scarf and VooDoo Handwarmers. Here are the results:

Scrunchable Scarf - @ravelry / http
VooDoo Handwarmers - @ravelry / http

I modified the scarf by adding fringe to the bottom, and I modified the Voodoo wristwarmers to add Fetching's afterthought thumb. Add me at ravelry!

handspun yarn (not by me), cotton headwrap, and a card i made.

knit handwarmers (she's in Australia!), a bunch of kool-aid for dyeing yarn, and a handmade card.

17  2nd one skein clutch in Knitting: Completed Projects by tasha07 on: June 18, 2007 08:19:25 PM
this is my second one-skein clutch. from the book one skein by leigh radford. i actually used two skeins, but only because i wanted a striped bag. i used cascade 220 double-stranded throughout and used about 1/2 of the red and 1/3 of the charcoal. size 15 24" circulars.

i like the way it came out. i didn't screw up the handles this time, so it's not shaped funny. however, it did felt less. which i thought was weird. if i don't like the size, i'll try and felt it some more, but i haven't used it yet (still drying from last night). i may embellish, i was thinking of needle-felting my name or something. we will see.

comments appreciated!

18  a cupcake and a clutch (img heavy) in Knitting: Completed Projects by tasha07 on: June 15, 2007 02:25:51 PM
i checked out One Skein by Leigh Radford from the library the day before yesterday and i've completed 2 projects and am working on a third. feedback is appreciated!!

the bottom is knit with rowan cashsoft dk and the top is one strand of berroco plush and one strand of lamb's pride bulky. completely stash made. it turned out a little wonky.

the clutch turned out a little odd, too, because i messed up on the handle on the one side so it was 1 stitch off on either side, making the increases one stitch off. but, i still like it. it's cute. i may line it, though i'm not sure. this was made with 1 skein of pastaza and the color is more true in the last few pictures. it's not quite blue, not quite purple. indigo, i guess. i am working on another clutch in dark red and charcoal with cascade 220 double stranded. hopefully i'll get this one done right and it will lay better. i will also be adding to more rows to the top above the handles so they are sturdier. it was also hand-felted as i am without a washer and dryer.

20  simple cell phone strap in Beads: Completed Projects by tasha07 on: June 13, 2007 08:53:58 AM
i had posted this before in another section of this forum (i think), and since it was my very first beading project, i had used silk thread to string through glass beads (duh). so i went back to the bead store downtown and got a little bit of help from the ladies behind the counter. i learned about nylon-coated wire (how neat!) and crimper beads. and how to make a tear-drop strap instead of a circle one. on to the pictures:

i just got my phone a month or 2 ago (a sony ericcson w810i) and it needed something sprakly that wasn't a sticker or anything.

charm at the top.

back of the charm.

gorgeous chinese lampwork bead that set me back a whopping $4.

clearer pic (before i added the silver charm).

how could you not <3 these guys? one is actually mine and the other is my boyfriend's. they are brothers, and i have no clue which is which in these pics.

feedback appreciated!
