21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Post card collectors swap? on: September 16, 2007 09:25:10 PM
I collect postcards from different states and tourism sites and such.  Any one up for this.  We could just send cards from the state we are in or if we live near a cool place that has postcards.  It could be cool.  Plus I am in college and have a P.O. box which receives zero mails except from my mama so I would like some more.
22  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / beef stew cubes. on: August 04, 2007 09:11:27 PM
How long would be the ideal time to let about 2 pounds of beef stew cubes cook for?
23  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Help me. Pot Roast. on: June 01, 2007 09:27:19 PM
My uncle left me in charge of meals while he is gone and I bought a roast but now I've realized I have no idea how to cook it.  I have some things I think I can use in it.  Golden mushroom soup, brown gravy mix, and garlic.  I'm planning to put it in the slow cooker tommorow morning before I go to work.  I'm confused.   Huh

25  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / pirates vs. ninjas: who will win? on: September 14, 2006 10:37:41 PM
ok so i'm in honors at UL Lafayette. and we have a seminar next week.  mandatory and it's call "Pirates Vs. Ninjas" we are supposed to dress up for who we are going for.

well i have a theory.  that if a ninja and pirate got together and had a child and from birth they taught that child the ways of pirating and ninjahood then the child would be the greatest fighter ever born.....2nd to Chuck Norris of course.

Any way back to my question which i've never mentioned till now.  I want to make a shirt using those iron on fuzzy letters. i just don't knwo how to say it in few enough words  to not cost a fortune on letters. (unless are they not that expensive. I have no idea the price of them)

I was thinking something along the lines of "A Pirate Ninja Lovechild is unbeatable" or somthing. i want to make it clear that they are the ultimate.

thanks for your advice if you have any to offer. i know this was a long and confusing post.
26  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Messenger bag --- 4 months after i made it. on: September 08, 2006 05:58:10 PM
I made this bag for my brother about 4 months ago cause he'd seen mine and liked it and wanted one. Of course.  You always want what the other one has.

He wanted green with blue lining but we didn't have blue and not enough green so he settled for a green and red combo deal.  It turned out quite neat and now i'm wanting myself one.

here he is modeling it.  Jeez, can you belive he's only 12 and is 5'7".

and here's a pic of the bag by itself.  I really love it.
27  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / water chestnuts and bamboo shoots on: May 18, 2006 09:07:42 AM
if i'm making stirfry with just like some frozen stirfry veggies and a can of water chestnuts and a can of bamboo shoots do i put in the chestnuts and shoots last.  i've never cooked these things before and don't want my family not eating it because it's cooked wrong
28  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Shakespeare iron on on: April 29, 2006 04:40:52 PM
Next week i'm going to be going to the Shakespeare festival.  It's semi dressy.  Does anyone think that making a t-shirt that says "Shakespeare is my homeboy" or something good and shakespearey like that and wearing a nice peasant skirt would look ok. Thanks
29  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Will stuffing it help? on: February 20, 2006 08:11:50 AM
I am in the process of making a stuffed panda.  I've been embroidering the face.  My stitches are too tight and made some rippling.  Will stuffing make the rippling smooth out do you think.  My mama says yes but i just need some other opinions.  Thanks.
30  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Selling a Scarf on: January 18, 2006 11:28:11 AM
One of my friends recently requested that I crochet a scarf for her.  It's going to be about 63 inches long and 7 inches wide with 7 inch wide tassles.  She said she would buy yarn for it.  So my mama told me I should charge her $15 dollars for labor.  Does that sound about right?
