23  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Out of town wedding shower! (help plz!) on: August 07, 2007 07:38:43 PM
Sorry guys! I completely forgot the details. -.-; This'll probably help a lot.

The colors are black, white, and red, with an underlying current of the Queen-of-Hearts bit. We want to get a present for her that's just for her, like nothing off of the registry or for the home.

I like that cooking idea (being a graduate of culinary school), but unfortunately, we just have limited time once we get there. Plus, I'm not sure WHEN we'll all get there, so it might be hard to coordinate. -.-;;; Unfortunately. ;-; Thanks though!

My friend from North Carolina is getting married and I am one of her bridesmaids. Unfortunately, ALL of her bridesmaids (including the MOH) are out of state! We plan on getting there a few days before the wedding but we're plotting a type of mini-shower, at least for the four of us.

Knowing all that, does anyone have any ideas that spring to mind? I'm still actively searching, but I figured since weddings include out-of-towners, you'd guys have some good thoughts. Smiley

I'm looking for gift ideas, games, anything you got. Smiley Thanks!

oohh nice! must have taken so long to do! youve got some patience! x x

It's really sending all the notes (since I look for art on Deviant Art) to get permission to use the art that takes the most time and need for organization. The puzzle-style boxes took longer because I had to make templates and fit them all together, but the Phoenix Wright box had a new style and took less time, and I think looks just as good.

Sweet Discworld stuff!  That art is purty, had you posted it on deviantart?

And yes, modgepodge is a girl's best friend!

Yes I did! The link will take you to the deviation, plus the breakdown of who let me use their art. Smiley

I love me some mod podge <3

This is my first official post here with pictures, so please be gentle. Smiley

I started painting boxes with designs for my friends and now I take people's fan art (with permission, of course) and theme boxes for them. Smiley

The collages are bad because I have bad photo-taking skills, but you'll get the idea.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, made with magazine clippings

Final Fantasy VII fan art (Fan art credits can be found here: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/46334745/)

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney box- my most recent. (Credits: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/58133643/)

And my favorite...

Discworld. Smiley (Credits: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/36994537/)

I also decorated a drawer for an Ikea box with Discworld fan art:

I wanted to share, since this is really the only visual art that I have a little talent in. XD;;;
30  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: HELP! Purse rack or storage suggestion needed: on: August 05, 2007 05:41:07 PM
I am SO intrigued by this post, so now I'm on a quest to find a suitable answer- I too keep my purses in plastic boxes in my closet but then again, I have WAY too many!

So I found this:

Which I imagine you could make with clothespins and a strip of cloth...

You could probably make that out of shoeboxes and cloth somehow...

You could do that with wood.

My first mental image was almost like a revolving shoe tree, but for purses. Did you have any ideas at all?

Now I want one of whatever it is that doesn't exist yet. :/ I hope I helped somewhat!
